If one has health issues, I recommend the J.J. Virgin Elimination Diet, but that is not about fat loss. It's about fixing health issues by discovering what foods are causing chronic health problems or how to just feel better by eliminating foods that may lead to chronic health issues later.

Just stop eating. It resets ur gut biomes allowing them to flourish. Any type of roughage makes biomes thrive but you'll fart like crazy too.

Lardy I also think fruits are very important too. But basically yes. You summarized it nicely. But many many people know are pursuing variants of the carnivore diet where it is almost all meat to the exclusion of everything else. I think that is a big mistake. I believe all the macro-nutrients are important and also genetics. Up in Alaska, Inuits eat lots of blubber and animal products and do OK Absolutely! I tried carnivore, and couldn't stand the taste of meat after a short while. It's way too extreme for me, and I think only a small part of the population is built for that. That said, I know wheat and gluten are pure poison for me; that's the reason paleo and also the Bloodtype Diet work so well for me. I do have to work on my hydration, though. There are days I barely drink half a liter of anything.

This "If It Fits Your Macros" diet is… totally not my thing. I just used their macros calculator on the page, and THAT is what I got:
(male, 52, 94kg bodyweight, 181cm tall)
184g Protein 87g Fat 203g Carbs
184g of protein?! Longevity scientists recommend half of that, and that's what I have been doing for a long time now. I can't complain about my muscularity, and i don't mind not having a six-pack any more (besides, there's some evidence that being sliiiiiightly overweight can also increase lifespan, but I can't find the paper at the moment)...

Yes. I try and take every other day, but sometimes go 3 days without. When I remember to take it is when I already had citrus fruit or a vitamin c tab, so it's never on mind to be diligent with it. I'm thinking of giving it up when I run out. I knew guys on the football team in school that would take up to 10 regular aspirin after hard practices or games, which I thought was insane. I read the late pro wrestler Bruiser Brody would take about 6 aspirin so when he bled in a match it would come out faster like water and look horrible. It's part of the reason he died after being stabbed in Puerto Rico - he bled out too quick. The lose dose is recommended to prevent blood clots to reduce the risk of stroke and heart attack right? I knew about Bruiser Brody and watch him wrestler many times. It's crazy he took so many aspirin. The low dose is suppose to act like a blood thinner. I know I use to use cinnamon a lot. I believe it acts like a blood thinner also. I remember when I would get a little cut I would bleed like heck. YES! The low dose is for blood thinning to prevent blood clots to reduce heart attacks and strokes - what they told me. It's also to reduce inflammation. Along with the bleeding cuts your described, I noticed I bruised easy. Barely bumped into something and saw a big bruise latter that day and I almost never bruised up ever even playing football.

I think I took my last aspirin 20 years ago, and I never looked back. I prefer natural remedies. Regarding inflammation: take Curcumin Phytosome with Meriva, it's completely natural and fights inflammation very well.

It's about fixing health issues by discovering what foods are causing chronic health problems or how to just feel better by eliminating foods that may lead to chronic health issues later. The original paleo diet does this quite elegantly. First, you cut out all "white poisons": dairy, flour and starch. Eat a clean, natural diet with veggies, meat and fish. Try out which plants your body reacts favorably to, and which you better stay away from. This will take a few months. For instance, my body doesn't like pineapple, even though I like it. Then, if you feel the need for it, introduce (slowly) dairy in your diet and see how you react to it. The most important part is to stay away from gluten and grains. Most people react okay-ish to cooked-and-cooled rice and potatoes, though.

Bob & Brad videos have been posted here on occasion. I never knew gluten could cause speech and balance problems.

I feel like I go on about this a bit much sometimes and I could be wrong but for me personally potatoes are probably one of the best foods a human can eat, I also consider the potato to be "Paleo" it doesn't make sense to me how it isn't paleo, I've read the reasons it isn't but I'm not buying it they're a tuber that grows in the ground... it doesn't get more paleo than that?

The reason for many Paleo-eaters (I call myself "Primal" because I follow Mark Sisson, and he's way more lenient) to say taters aren't paleo is because they were introduced as widespread food after the paleolithic. But more and more paleo folks are accepting them now because the benefits of cooked-and-cooled potatoes (resistant starch) are really astonishing.

I also love potatoes, but consider them a "cheat" on paleo. They have to be cooked to kill the toxins, that's the line in the sand for paleo, anything that requires fire before we can eat it. We've just lost our taste for raw meat, but can digest it perfectly fine. They are high in toxins solanine when raw and glycoalkaloids (mostly in the skin). I don't think I will die from potatoes, so I'm not giving them up.

J.J. Virgin identifies 7 food types that can cause health issues, but I see that she is now promoting her elimination diet as a "weight loss" diet instead of a method of identifying foods that are toxic to the individual. HERE is an article about elimination diets that may be more helpful. I can say that 100% of the people I know that have thoroughly, completely, obsessively and persistently removed the toxic glutens (barley, rye, oats wheat and spelt, or BROWS) from their diet have had improvements in their health. There was one lady that I shared info about the toxic glutens and eliminating them from her diet. She did and came back to me excited that after less than a week of absolutely no toxic gluten grains, her brain fog went away and she could think clearly. The reason she was excited was that she didn't even know that she had brain fog prior to eliminating the toxic glutens. There are nearly 300 negative health issues that are caused whole or in part by consuming the toxic gluten grains. It's not easy when a person has been eating just whatever is in front of them since the toxic gluten grains, especially wheat and besides the obvious like breads, pasta, pizza, donuts, beer, whisky and cookies, are hiding in most everything that is processed, in spices and condiments, salad dressings and sauces, boxed "food", liquid products, filtering agents for drinks, etc, etc, etc. This is why a complete elimination of the toxic glutens only happens when one is focused on eating food as it naturally occurs straight off the land, without any involvement of restaurant "food" factories, manufacturers, outside processors or chemical treatment and avoiding any food when all of the ingredients are unknown. For example, manufacturers (there's a clue right there) of spices routinely add wheat to them as filler to make their price competitive, but because they keep the amount below an FDA established threshold, they are not required to fully disclose what's in it. Just eating normal food, in exactly the condition it would have existed and that would have been available in 1800 or earlier is a good way to think about what food really is, IMO. We've been conditioned to think that food comes in a can, a bag or a box, but it doesn't. It grows out of fertile ground and is eaten by us and the animals that we eat. That's what is normal and natural. I have posted much on this subject in the past, so you can do a search on this forum to find more info if you're interested, sorting by member "mikey" and term "gluten".

I have one of J.J. Virgin's books. I found it real cheap. I'd be lying if I said I didn't eat Oatmeal and sprouted whole wheat. But I have a question or two for this style of eating You guys are talking about.
First I will say I never liked baked/boiled potatoes. Never liked the taste of them, I have to force myself to eat them. They actually make me want to vomit. I don't know why this is. The only way I can eat any white potatoes is roasted with brussel sprouts and onions. I do like sweet potatoes. My favorite are the Japanese ones.
Being that I work outside I usually bring my lunch to work. With the gluten free eating You guys are talking about, give me some ideas for lunch. I have no way to heat anything up. And I do know the idea of eating when You're hungry, I'm always hungry. I eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a snack because I have certain times I can eat. So I'm curious about this gluten thing. I know some guys like fasting and some guys don't like to eat. I'm not going to starve myself when I'm physically active everyday.

I know some guys like fasting and some guys don't like to eat. I'm not going to starve myself when I'm physically active everyday. The skin of baked potato is carcinogenic. I don't boil potatoes anymore. I steam them. This is faster and I feel it may sweat out any toxins that may be present, but who knows? I scrub them with a stainless scrubber, rinse and steam them. The important thing with any potato (or any real food) is that they have little or no chemical treatment. I've posted before about my friend who worked on an organic potato farm and a commercial potato farm, so not going to do that here. I like to buy them from organic local farmers who are not spraying them with anything, so they are usually not perfect - might have chewed holes that I cut out. If I buy them at the store, I sniff the bag to insure that there is no smell other than maybe dirt. I've thrown out whole bags of potatoes that, once cooked, I could smell and taste the chemicals. I spit them out. Anyway, you don't need to eat yellow, red, blue, white or russet(which are only good for baking, so I never eat) potatoes. Nothing wrong with sweet potatoes. In fact, sweet potatoes have more nutrition, so go for it. Brussel sprouts and onions are great. I usually eat onions and/or garlic everyday. Beyond that, I don't know what you like to eat. Basically, if you want to avoid the toxic gluten grains, don't eat them. Eat something else. EDIT 1: I know that it can be difficult to withdraw from processed "foods". The manufacturers engineer them to be addictive with chemicals and sugar. The gluten grains have a high GI which makes the effect like sugar addiction because they are sugar during digestion. When I used to eat bagels (lots of gluten) or Voortman almond shortbread cookies (lots of sugar), I would eat them to put me to sleep. The high GI worked like a sedative and I was addicted. EDIT 2: That video I posted by K boges shows about a dozen meals that appear to not have any of the toxic glutens at all. I don't know anything more about him than the couple videos I posted, that I stumbled on during random youtube clicks. He says he's a meal planner. If so, the absence of gluten in the meals he shows on that video may indicate that he has some good plans, but you could check out his site that he mentions. If it was me, I'd just copy the meals he shows. Rotating 12 basic meals is enough to hold my interest and they all looked good, although I'd tweak the portion sizes to suit.
