Just look at any picture of Reg Park when he started juicing. He, IMHO, did not look natural at all. There are pictures where he's standing side by side with Arnold and not a whole lot of difference in size. Bill Pearl openly admitted to using steroids but he's another people treat him as he was clean. There are a lot of deluded people when it comes to these old timers. People don't want to believe that pre 1940s is the look they should expect. They truly want to believe that around the mid 1940s some training and nutrition secret was discovered that led to everyone suddenly getting bigger than ever before. It wasn't just bigger either; the whole look is just very different. Grimek in the 30s had the same look they all did then.

"Or ..... maybe, he's not even referring to this forum at all..."
Yes, I do not blame someone on this or Greg's forum. Negative responses I got personally from two weight lifting (?) guys. Also, you can find similar stupid opinions on the internet. For example, only endurance may be reached by this method, not muscle mass. It looks that these people are not familiar enough with this type of training or trained wrongly. Indeed, we know that there are some tricks to be successful in it.

I am of the firm belief that if someone doesn't believe that a certain type of exercise is effective, rather than debating with someone who does, he should try it himself to find out conclusively how effective it might or might not be. And then he will have the personal experience from which to speak. In the case of co-contraction, seeker's avatar speaks for itself. (pssssst....he really built himself up with weights)

Oh. ok. I can calm down now. Thank you.
For a bit there I thought I might have to go on a Verbal Attack Pattern. I was already getting myself into a vapid state of mind.

Yeah, Bruce it is me. I have decided to change my avatar because some people claimed that co-contraction is not effective method to build muscles. Yes, it is not the best way, but for the old guys as we, this method is safest and productive. Well I have said in the past that all forms of training work, as for being old It is to me that if you need move weight etc... you need to lift/push/pull it, I have tried so many different forms of training over the years. But for me the only way to do something is to actually do it, I know that muscles do not care what methods someone uses they will respond and give the effect of the muscle being worked. I have done routines that have involved muscle tension while they have pumped those muscles they have done nothing for me when it comes to real weight. Maybe there is something wrong with me, but I have only ever gained strength with weight by using weight. As for something being safe, it up to the individual how safe they want to be, most people that have injured themselves have not listened to their own bodies and have only learned after they get injured.
