I like that they listed the stats of Grimek, Park, and Reeves as the ultimate natural bodybuilders - the three greatest bodybuilders from the 40's and 50's. Only Park is missing. Is that you in your avatar, Seeker? I gotta assume so. If so, your co-contraction style of working out speaks volumes!

John Grimek - "Physician John Ziegler was an avid weightlifter who became fascinated with the use of anabolic steroids to increase muscle mass and performance. In the early 1950s, he befriended bodybuilder John Grimek and other weightlifters associated with Bob Hoffman’s York Barbell Club." thinksteroids.com/articles/history-anabolic-steroids-sports/Steve Reeves - Highly suspected of using steroids. Light frame yet very good musculature. Reg Park - Per bodybuilder Roger Walker: "Steroids have been around since about the 1950's, the bodybuilders that stood out in the 1950's that new the secret really stood out like dog's balls. They were head and shoulders above the rest. I remember a guy called Reg Park, he one the British Nationals, his father sent him over to America afterwards for 6 months and he put on 50 pounds. He was one of the pioneers of drug abuse in bodybuilding." www.evolutionary.org/reg-park-steroid-cycle/

Yeah, Bruce it is me. I have decided to change my avatar because some people claimed that co-contraction is not effective method to build muscles. Yes, it is not the best way, but for the old guys as we, this method is safest and productive.

Whatever someone's doing to keep fit, healthy, and build muscle and strength, and who sticks with it, is the best way. I, personally, did this form of exercise, or what I call Kin Shi-Hai Do, for two and a half years. Don't let what people say on this forum get you down. That's the price of a free speech forum.

Just to hammer the point home: the standard articles on steroids often neglect to mention that mass testosterone use began in the 1940s. It was ready to hit the mass US market in 1939. The pharm companies needed a market and bodybuilders were targeted. It was actively advertised to bodybuilders in the 1940s. All this is documented in the book The Male Hormone (available for free online owing to its age. Muscle Smoke and Mirrors is the book that confirms it was advertised to bodybuilders in the 40s.
Muscle Smoke and Mirrors says that Grimek wrote to a doctor in 1943 about testosterone.
Grimek changed drastically from cover shots in the 30s to the late 40s. Now maybe guys like Reeves and Grimek just found the secret training method we all look for. But my money is the obvious one: they were on testosterone. That's why during the 40s and 50s physiques suddenly changed.

Just look at any picture of Reg Park when he started juicing. He, IMHO, did not look natural at all. There are pictures where he's standing side by side with Arnold and not a whole lot of difference in size. Bill Pearl openly admitted to using steroids but he's another people treat him as he was clean.

Because I don't believe anyone said it, m8 Me either. Could it be that seeker is misunderstanding or misinterpreting a post by someone due to cultural/language differences? Or ..... maybe, he's not even referring to this forum at all. Does he read or post on any "World Of Physical Culture" websites that the owner uses to promote his own ego and belittle all who participate - not that I would know of any forum like that existing on the internets .....
