Read Cracking The Aging Code for some current tips to fool Father Time slightly . The authors claim future research will yield far more robust results . For now aging beings would be wise to move more and eat less .

In your forties??! For cryin' out loud! I was in my prime in my forties and could do anything! I agree there Bruce! I'm 40 next month and both look and feel in optimum shape. My cardio is now better than it has ever been. I post on a surf page on Facebook and it's weird that many guys who hit 40 talk about themselves as being old men now who can't do much anymore. I guess though if people have families, have to work long hours, and have let themselves get in bad shape then I can see why they feel old. Whiffet I agree with Bruce also. Don't take that as I let myself go or saying I'm old because I'm not. I just think all that macho, lift as much weight as You can, doing stunt exercises or trying to get big at all cost is really not my thing. I mostly do exercise because I enjoy it and want to keep injuries at bay. That doesn't mean I'm not going to put effort into what I'm doing? No way. Your just going to be turning 40 Congrats! Couple of years I'm going to be heading into my 50's and I do feel good. You have a pretty lay up life and job. That gives You plenty of time to recover which I'm glad for You. I don't have that luxery but I enjoy what I do because I like being physical.

Well I have not done any convetional training in just over 7 months, I started a new job back then and it covers all types of training, I fabricate aluminium frames and sashes etc... I have not felt the need to do anything else, I do enjoy it and getting paid to exercise what else could be better. I can become a couch potato at home and do not have to find time to workout, I will be 50 in few months.

It is an interesting subject. I think that we can gain muscles when we are aged, but a method may play a critical role. I have lost almost all my muscle after my surgery and radiation, but could gain some muscles again using only co-contraction and stick exercises.

Well, all kidding aside and a nod to Bruce, when I was in my 40s and hit my final PRs. There may have been a few more but injuries were starting to take a whee bit longer to heal and I probably needed to modify my approach. But, at that time I was running the high end of the DB rack and had hit the +300lb x 4 or 5 for pulldowns after messing with Crunch's iso-holds for +1 month. I also did an extended cycle of creatine on and off for around six months, which may or may not have added another 10% to my lifts -- can't say yes or no, but, I did notice a small amount of water retention which I did not like. (NOTE: Always used under the recommended amounts and would use the product for three days on and one or two days off so that I did not build up a tolerance which is a common issue with the product.)

It seems like yesterday you told JP, "I am a 33 year old lawyer from England."

Creatine is an odd one for me. I used it when it first came on the market many years ago. It worked really well -- my lifts all shot up with ease. I also developed bad lower back pain and stopped using it for that reason. In more recent times I've used it again and noticed no benefits. I always wonder whether they'd put some sort of steroid in the original tub I got in the 1990s.

When the property market crashed and my work was drying up, I spent many hours in the office enjoying the old "as the blow rotates" forum. Is it still there and just hidden? No. I shut it down when JP announced on his forum that he had begun a law suit. Of course, he hadn't. Lying as usual, but at the time I took him seriously and I decided that bashing someone on the Internet wasn't worth jeopardizing my family. Anyway, there's AMM.

It was going well here ,put mine on the market and no interest at all ,i thought it would sell really quickly similar ones were up until the summer ,now not sure but have noticed a lot falling through.I am at the bottom end of the market. Was looking at properties west of me ,North Devon and North Dorset properties i'd saved are mostly still unsold ,all the ones i had an eye on in Somerset went really quickly.Even starter homes here are £200,000 and most built £300,000 or more .I keep thinking it's crazy and something must give.
