With an average of 45 years for life expectancy, it's not a diet for me. What are they dying from? Not from heart problems. People that lead nomadic and semi nomadic lifestyles have fairly low life expectancy. This is largely because there is high mortality among babies and children that live this lifestyle. All countries that have high infant mortality have low life expectancy.

I read they pass from pneumonia, probably from lack of sufficient shelter from weather and less than ideal sanitary conditions. I'm sure from animals in the wild as well. I agree, the young mortality rates have a huge impact on the overall expectancy. Would a diet with more vegetables be an answer? I look for and could not find any pictures of old tribespeople. Maybe it was cultural that they did not want to be photographed. Great article : nutritionstudies.org/masai-and-inuit-high-protein-diets-a-closer-look/ about how they eat meat and drink blood, but not as much as one might think. Their leaness is also from their calorie deficiency compared to dietary intake. They still develop atherosclerosis. Their extreme daily activity seems to offset the condition. Overall, for me, I can't/won't walk 12 miles/day and do other things just to eat a steak and blood everyday. To each their own.

A diet with more food is probably the answer. I think spending your life following cattle around while on a low calorie diet isn't going to be healthy in the long run no matter what you are eating.
Average expectancy in Kenya is 65 but not for the Masai.
Really though I think there are many factors would help. For example, life expectancy in Europe increased a lot when more people had indoor plumbing and proper toilets. Also when hospitals became more hygienic when delivering babies.

Keto or Carnivore are proving to have the same or similar longevity benefits as fasting, and are often now actually referred to as "fasting-mimicking" diets. REAL meat, not bologna/smoked sausages/processed meats. Also showing some anti-cancer benefits. Everyone ultimately can only bet their own life on the path they choose.

There is more calcium in maple syrup than in milk. High calcium in milk is a myth. Another sweet alternative is Blackstrap Molasses, but I like the flavor of real maple syrup better.

Well Kenyans in general are eating less meat, milk and blood than the Masai and only have a life expectancy of 65. Do we believe that people that eat less meat than the Masai are only going to live to 65? Most Europeans had many centuries of low meat consumption until fairly recently. Being underweight was the norm for a very long time and it didn't do people any good. Eating meat helped to put some muscle and people's bones and kids began to over take their parents in height. You can still this in Mediterranean countries where the short arse parents are towered over by their kids when they pick them up at school. That always made me chuckle.

I once told my grandpa that his favorite artificial sweetener was proved to cause brain tumors in rats. He said, "It's a good thing I'm not a rat". Likewise I can't live on noodles and soy. Both are unnatural human foods, but whatever works for Okinawans.

I think the soy eaten by the Asians is not the same as the soy we have in the US with all of our big agribiz chemical crop treatments. And what about Tempeh the soy they ferment? After it's fermented, it isn't soy anymore in the same way that fermented cabbage becomes kraut and no longer has the negative gastrointestinal effect of cabbage.

I really don't care what Japanese people eat. I saw a group of about 30 Japanese teen tourists in a shopping centre. The boys had the physiques of skinny 9 year old girls.
