There was a bloke in England who set out to prove he could live on a diet of just fish, chips and peas. He died at 45 but that may not be coz of his diet.
So, I guess he was unable to prove it.

Fish and chips? Maybe it killed him, but what a way to go. Actually you probably could live forever on fish and potatoes, minus the deep frying, but then what's the point. Henry, that stew sounds amazing. We don't eat much lamb in the U.S., though personally I have begun buying it more. I'm also addicted to duck breast, that layer of fat right under the skin is so good. Also some greasy pork ribs, so much yummy fat. Americans are beef addicts, not sure the rest of the world is as obsessed with beef. When the first round of COVID hit, the shelves were emptied of all beef first, then pork, while the seafood freezer never ran out of fish.

With an average of 45 years for life expectancy, it's not a diet for me. I had seen this diet in Vince Gironda book I ordered in 1990. It detailed drinking of blood from cattle, meat eating, and raw milk as the primary sources of food. High protein and calcium to build bone and muscle on these tall lean folks with perfect teeth. They also are said not to get sick. I worked with a guy who loved milk, drank a quart at each meal and then more in between. He had a heart attack at 50 because of it. Apparently, the pasteurization/homogenization breaks the fat solids up so small they knick the arteries causing inflammation and atherosclerosis and thus heart attacks. This is why the raw milk is best. Arnold said, like most Europeans, adults should not drink milk. Lactose intolerance may be attributed to the hormone they give cows to produce more milk. Try whole milk from a natural organic source. If you can get raw it is better. I think the processed foods and GMO's in food are hurting us more than we know. There is an article in a 1940's issue of Bob Hoffmans Strength & Health I have where Hoffman penned an article on nutrition stating how over farming of land has caused a decrease in nutritional content of our foods. I wonder how much lower it is now over 70 years later. I like all your posts Brother Steve, but I have to take the time for a special shout out for the Bob Hoffman S&H reference. Vintage gold.

I have a cousin whose Mom lived to 95. She smoked two packs a day. She was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and lived with it for five years. An iron constitution. She told me once at a family gathering see John it made no difference. I said what are you talking about. You would have hit 122 without those habits. She cracked up but then it morphed into a coughing fit and I was scolded for making people laugh too hard The fish and chips guy is amazing However it is well known that fish is very healthy And potatoes are a health food too

Much appreciated! All he folks here have info they know, found and share. I just try and contribute what I have to offer. Some day, I hope to get all my relevant old S & H stuff out and load it onto pdf for the training manual section.

It's the peas that'll kill you. Legumes are not good for humans. Stick with the fish and chips, don't forget the tartar sauce. Guinness never hurt anyone either. I see a new diet coming soon.

Legumes are the staple of pretty much all of the longest living peoples, also nuts are thought to have an impact in the final score. That being said, in the midlands we don't have peas with fish and chips, it's all about chip shop curry sauce.
