It's the peas that'll kill you. Legumes are not good for humans. Stick with the fish and chips, don't forget the tartar sauce. Guinness never hurt anyone either. I see a new diet coming soon. Legumes are the staple of pretty much all of the longest living peoples, also nuts are thought to have an impact in the final score. ...... ......... curry sauce. True. I eat a lot of beans/legumes. I love spicey hot food.

Legumes are not good for humans. Yes only if eaten raw.
Rob loves his beans . . .
Might get arrested for excessive farting after eating all those beans. I like a few black beans in my chipotle veggie bowl ( I add a tin of sardines to it), but his meal has a true fart load of beans in it. 5 cans of beans in one meal.? Don’t ride in an elevator with this guy.

I have actually tried beans several times as a meat replacement because they’re so cheap, however even with beano the fart-meter was on full-tilt. I just can’t eat them, wish I could. Black beans aren’t as bad in my experience, and my experience is a lot of farting. If I lived alone in a shed in the woods I could probably live on beans but the bears would smell me a mile away.

But .......... have you eaten beans every day for a month or longer? One of the fart-reducing tips I found was to add some baking soda, dissolved in water, to the beans.

"But .......... have you eaten beans every day for a month or longer?"
But who, living in society, can do it for a month?

I read them all, but still don't know if it would work for me as a month is a long time.
I like all kinds of beans (homemade and canned) and tried eating them for 5 days straight about 5 years ago, not all in one meal, about a cup a day at dinner. Had a lot of gas and it increased during that time so I stopped. Garbonzos had the least gaseous effect for me.
Need to give it another try in private somehow.

I don’t want to spend a month farting and sharting, as fun as it sounds. The less plant based my diet the better I feel. My current luxury item is either a couple small potatoes a day or a block of ramen I use to make a soup with sardines and a poached egg. The ramen is often my only carbs for a day and that’s 54grams so not bad overall for a little indulgence, and I think the benefits of the sardines and egg make it a fair trade off

If you guys would actually READ, you'd see that introduction of beans is gradual. Start with one bean per day if you need to.

I did read the articles and did one type of bean per day, which was about 1 cup cooked (B & M baked beans from can - should have tried another fresh type). I would have them with rye bread. Rest of the day had some bananas, chicken beef, or pork. Each day was more and more gas. I think I just needed to keep going and push through with it for a bit longer. Also, noticed my finger joints stiffened up a bit.

Not one TYPE of bean, ONE BEAN. I'm exaggerating, of course, but the articles mention start with very tiny portions per day and slowly increase portion size to allow your body time to adapt. These are my favorite: (Three ingredients; organic beans, water, salt)

I see, will start very small portions. I will start over with it as I love them and believe in the great health effects. I had also looked them up then and the stiffness in my fingers may have been early gout and have since seen garbanzo and lima have less purines and I like those a lot.

I had a can of those for first meal today (385 cal), adding several shakes of Louisiana Hot Sauce and, before eating, a chunk of diced onion and 11cc of a mixture of bluegreen algaes and moringa powder.
Many times, when I eat beans, I poach them with about 3oz of organic lean ground beef and, when done, add lots of chopped fresh garlic&/or onion, home garden super-hot sauce, curry spice (or other spices like ground black seed, pinch wasabi powder, etc), pinch of sea salt, some nutritional yeast and scoop it up in chunks of lettuce to eat. Sometimes I use egg(s) instead-or-with the ground beef. My meals are not gourmet complicated, but they taste OK to me.
The other Kroger Simple Truth Organic beans I like are the pinto.

Chickpeas are my favourite legume, I'm not a good cook but sometimes I add a teaspoon of butter and a table spoon of curry powder to a load of chickpeas and cook them in a wok or frying pan, you can add loads of stuff to this like garlic, onions, sweetcorn, diced potatoes etc.
Another one which I'm sure can be done with any legume but again I use chickpeas, Mash the chickpeas, cut some chilli, cut some spring onions, add some flour (preferably not wheat), add some lemon juice, mix it and form patties, dry fry or use 1kcal spray stuff.
Lentils can literally be added to anything.
