.... Potatoes being tubers I would imagine our species survived on them a lot when the mammoths were scarce. Yes indeed, they are paleo. Indigenous peoples have been eating tubers forever. (Don't tell Bruv though. He's an anti-tuberite.) Jerusalem Artichoke grow wild around me.

My personal diet has slowly evolved to the following main foods: Beef (and assorted red meat) Chicken thighs Fish (salmon/sardines/mackeral) Butter Potatoes Milk (Fairlife brand with half the sugar and no lactose) I never ate a lot of potatoes as a kid, only in the last six months have I really incorporated them. I have no desire for fruits or veggies. Potatoes being tubers I would imagine our species survived on them a lot when the mammoths were scarce. I'm currently following a very similar way of eating apart from the fish, i usually eat cod, I can't stomach oily fish Eating this food is stopping me from going crazy on all the christmas foods etc, I'll lighten it up a bit after xmas. I eat so many boiled potatoes which some people see as fattening but for me I have to feel incredibly full after each meal, also when I eat mashed potatoes I try to use as little butter as possible because if it's buttery I seem to be able to override my satiety level. I also always have a pile of "Mixed frozen veg" the frozen stuff, just for vitamins and stuff.

lardy, have you tried drinking a couple large glasses of water BEFORE eating? I don't know if I've mentioned it recently, but a basic "food combining" or "sequential eating" concept is to eat foods in sequence, according to water content, starting with the most watery to the foods containing the least water.

I usually drink whilst eating, how long before are we talking? Just before. The idea is to start eating with water already in your stomach to take up space that otherwise would be occupied with food. Or, drinking water in place of eating between meals. I don't think there's any study to confirm this, but it's something you can experiment with to see of it helps you. Drinking more water was one of the key points in the "Turbocharged" diet which was introduced about 10 years ago.
