Just now reminded myself by making my first (& likely only) real meal today (+ snacks, like nuts) of whole eggs and a couple small potatoes w/ chlorella, spriulina & fresh crushed garlic, I'm poaching the potatoes with a little water poured over flax seeds. Like fish oil/oily fish, flax is a source of Omega 3 FAs.
I don't grind mine, preferring to let the water plump them up as the poacher goes for about 20 to 30 minutes on low heat before adding the eggs. This is also the time I add garden grown, home made hot sauce! Love me some hot & spicy! I add the garlic after all is cooked and cooled slightly to gain as much benefit and spice from the garlic as possible (allicin).

Must try it again. I normally fry mine in coconut oil. Be good to do something different.

...... How do you guys take your circumin? Through powdered tumeric? Or circumin tabs? I take this one from Jarrow Formulas. Another suggestion is collagen, like this one from Great Lakes. I take it occasionally. Also, MSM? I don't take it currently, but may try it again. Here's one that I haven't checked out, but gives an idea of what MSM is claimed to do. Also, I eat whole eggs with runny yolks, which I never fry in oils (I avoid frying like it was a drug): Fast has been eating lots of eggs. I wonder if he has experienced any chronic joint issues lately? The thing that can trick people about designing their diet to fix health issues is that, food which supplies the nutrition to the body so that it can heal itself as it does, requires longer and comes up slower than putting a band-aid of drugs on/in. However, it is what actually fixes the problem at its base, which is in large part caused by insufficient nutrients at the start, as opposed to drugs which, in order to work, use up nutrients without replacing them and that resulting lack then causing other health issues, which then need more drugs to fix the side effects of those, which then require more drugs to fix ......... etc, to surgeries, etc, more drugs ...... death. Thanks for the links. I like the look of the jarrow circumin. Unfortunately, being a veggie, the gelatin collagen is out but I do eat about 6-10 eggs a week so hopefully there's some going in that way

However, it is what actually fixes the problem at its base, which is in large part caused by insufficient nutrients at the start, as opposed to drugs which, in order to work, use up nutrients without replacing them and that resulting lack then causing other health issues, which then need more drugs to fix the side effects of those, which then require more drugs to fix ......... etc, to surgeries, etc, more drugs ...... death. Unfortunately, the collagen hype vs. biochemistry does not play out. 100% "Bro Science". All of this collagen silliness rose from the dead recently when Dave Asprey's Bulletproof biz start hyping the product and the supplement industry caught on to yet another money-maker. (Similar things have happened previously in the supplement industry...Vince Gironda sold RNA tabs and more recently those BS growth hormone products like genostem or whatever it is called.) But, when I heard Asprey was pushing it, I knew something stunk much like his BS Bulletproof Coffee and and decided to do some digging to confirm my suspicions. Why? This type of nutritional mythology goes back to the days of eating the heart of an ox to be as strong as ox. Don't think that theory ever worked out. So, should we eat the heart or muscle of a dolphin to swim better? If so, I'm all over it as I've never been a good swimmer. Bottom line ( !): you eat collagen...which is a form of "protein", of course...the body breaks it down into amino acids. The body then uses the amino acids as needed. To repair tissues, for use in your bones, create enzymes, etc., etc. And, your body also has an amino acid pool it can draw on (and does) along with amino acids being recycled. The human body is incredibly adaptable so even if you miss a few meals (eg Intermittent Fasting) it will always have a back up plan. Anyway, the body creates all of the collagen your body needs as long as you supply the right nutrients which I'm sure most people in the west do regularly. What is the protein collagen? It is comprised primarily of three amino acids: glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28929384Collagen also contains a number other amino acids including Lysine, Leucine, Arginine, etc. All are very common in our diet and they can be derived from plants as well as animal foods. As a side note, on a recent Joe Rogan podcast Chris Kresser (a buffoon and liar -- or complete idiot...take your pick) started talking about the importance of collagen. I was waiting to see what the other guest Dr. Joel Kahn would do and he didn't disappoint. He immediately jumped on Kresser and told him the bro science was wrong...you body builds the collagen you need. Score one for real science. So, another bottom line: the collagen you consume via the meat or powder you consume is not 1:1 with the collagen in your body. "BLINDED BY SCIENCE!!"

I don't know about all of that, but doctors who treat severely burned patients feed them bunches of eggs every day - like a couple dozen per day. Why? To facilitate tissue repair. They know that eggs contain the nutrition to speed up the healing of body tissue. That alone is good enough reason for me to eat them. The only thing better than eggs is your mama's breast milk, but you won't find that in your local hospital burn care unit.
Whatever the actual single ingredient is in eggs that facilitates tissue repair (I suspect it's not just one nutrient, like collagen, but the whole egg package of nutrients working together) is irrelevant. Eggs supply something (or some things) that speeds up healthy tissue repair.

Someone asked about joint pain or something similar. I have notice less joint pain and stiffness since increasing my egg consumption, and it is hard to explain, but my skin appears to be tighter. Let's just say wrinkles that were noticeable a couple months ago are less evident or gone.

They most likely have a higher percentage of specific amino acids critical to human health and various things that are part of the body's biosynthesis process such as tissue repair. Remember they also contain choline, etc., which is also important cellular integrity, so, the holistic benefit of eggs may be the bigger factor. You all may recall Vince Gironda swore by a daily massive egg intake. While Gordon Anderson regularly claimed Vince was "wrinkled like a prune" (compared to his psychic cult leader?? ), Vince -- in his 60s -- looked pretty good and did not match the Gourd's claims. (Vince's arteries, OTOH, were a mess, sadly...)

I tried to find some reference to what he actually ate himself (not what he recommended to others) but was unsuccessful. 1. Do you have any links to his personal daily diet? 2. Did he eat the same foods consistently, day after day, or in cycles? The cause of Vince's death is reported as Congestive Heart Failure. From reading on the webs, I found out (?) that congestive heart failure could be due to a number of possible factors. How do you know that: 1. his arteries were a mess? 2. eggs were the cause of his congestive heart failure (if that is what you are implying)?

Kinda funny that Tiny Vest tried to eat all of that protein without (mentioning) Vince Gironda's required HCL for digestion. [Yeah, I've been reading about Vince over the last couple days, trying to find answers to the questions that I've asked TR.] Not too bright is he?

How do you know that: 1. his arteries were a mess? 2. eggs were the cause of his congestive heart failure (if that is what you are implying)? Vince's diet. - As I've mentioned, I'd been to Vince's Gym around six times. Vince openly advocated his diet and talked about what he'd eaten a couple of times times when I was there when making suggestions regarding my diet. Lots of eggs, steak, etc. (And I only lasted a week, at best on the "diet"...the eggs, the dessicated liver tabs, the stupid protein drinks -- moreso fat drinks, etc. Riiculously expensive, my stomach was a mess after a few days, I couldn't hang in PT, etc.) - He also sold Rheo Blair's product for years and was a huge advocate of the heavy cream + Blair powder part of his diet (before switching to another product after Blair dying from a heart attack himself). - Based on my visits, what Vince said to me along with what was written in his books, pamplets and Muscle Mag, etc., eggs, steak, Rheo's fat-shake, etc., were the basis for what I understood comprised the basis of his diet. He did allow for a cheat day or let up on his diet on Sundays, but, that was the only time he allegedly went off his program. Vince's death. As I've also mentioned, Vince had a series of medical issues -- he was in failing health in the years leading up to his death. TIAs, angina and other problems. This comes from someone close to Vince that I know. Were all of the eggs he consumed the root cause? All of the cream? The steaks? Could be. Maybe not. I'll point towards Atkins' autopsy...his diet and Vince's were pretty closely aligned in terms of recommendations and while I may be wrong, I am pretty sure Vince was a huge advocate of Atkins' recommendations. And Atkins' autospy showed his arteries were a disaster. Congestive Heart Failure. Per what people who are involved in the medical industry have told me -- is an old 'catch all' or simply a generalization. Medicine has become more definitive and sophisiticate in terms of the cause of someone's passing due to an issue associated with the heart. "Being overweight" = congestive heart failure? I'm not an MD, but, I think a cardiologist who knows his/her stuff would look at that definition as a cause of "congestive heart failure" as being incomplete. I've also come to learn Vince's diet was simply pure BS. It wasn't primal...our ancestors could never have eaten like that. Try to find that many eggs to consume in one sitting, let alone in a day, in the wild. Simply impossible. Fatty steaks? Animals in the wild are leaner, have a higher % of Omega 3. And so on.

Mikey - You really, really have to quit speaking for me, buddy, or attempting to interpret what I posted...
(1) What I said was this: "Vince openly advocated his diet and talked about what he'd eaten a couple of times times when I was there when making suggestions regarding my diet. Lots of eggs, steak, etc." (2) I posted what was known via someone who knew him personally, what was in the magazines, etc. - Was I at his bedside? No. - Did I read his autopsy? No. - Did I know for a fact he was having health problems prior to/leading up to his passing? Yes. I've posted previously on several occasions that I had returned to the Venice Beach area in the 90s a few times and heard about Vince being sick, his gym having some financial difficulties. This was also in the muscle rags. - So based on your logic, we're to assume any reports of someone's death would be untrue/half truth? Sorry... (3) Everyone, please disregard Mikey's comment. I posted my reply.
