On rare occasions, I drink Jarrow Formulas Inc, Natural, Unflavored Whey Protein. It has two ingredients; non-rSBT whey and a little soy lecithin to help it mix up more easily. It must not be much lecithin because it takes a bit of patience to mix it up smooth when stirring by hand, but that is acceptable to me to avoid the industrial chemicals that they hide in "natural" and "artificial" flavors. Plus, the ingredients in that other shit shows multiple listing of some of the ingredients - I wonder why? And then, "cookie crumbs"? Really? This shit is just another type of junk food, designed to be addictive - and when the addict reads this, it pisses them off, of course, because it fucks with their addiction. I searched for a while before I found this one. It is the ONLY one I've found so far that does not have all of that other industrial chemical shit in it. Here are the ingredients of the Jarrow Natural Unflavored Whey Protein: Ingredient: 100% Ultrafiltered Whey Protein from milk and lecithin (from soy). Contains: Milk and soy.
Oh, BTW, except for this one, all of the other Jarrow whey protein products contain some of the same nasty shit as any other brand, so I'm not saying that all Jarrow Formulas whey protein offerings are healthy, because I don't believe they are.

Mr. P,
You might give Truenutrition.com a look. You can get protein and nothing else or you can add stuff to your protein.

I'm not sure if whey protein is a waste of money. Some years back I bought 7lbs of whey protein that was on sale, I used it all up within a month with no change. I was training with weights consistently and working in a warehouse packing Jeep parts to assembly plants. What did work for me was whole milk, of course it wasn't all muscle gain but did gain 24lbs in 3 months or so.
So nowadays I do use 1 scoop of Natural Factors Vegan Protein on my morning Dorset Cereals ® along with dates, walnuts and sunflower seeds. The Natural Factors Vegan Protein is 22g protein for 2 scoops my 1 scoop would then be 11g but with a cup of soy milk 8g and a cup of Dorset Cereal 12g.
I use the Vegan Protein to boost my cereal a bit before my workout, after my workout I have a big smoothie of juiced veg and a fruit blended with lettuce, peanut butter, sometime tofu, nuts and seeds, cooked kale.
I sometimes buy other brands of Vegan Protein such as Vega when it's on sale like $20 off.

I've not taken the whey protein to gain mass. I just use it as a quick way to get some protein sometimes if I'm in a hurry. The only thing I tried for a few months to gain was creatine for a few months and even then, not every day nor in the recommended quantity. Seemed to work, but I haven't used it lately. I'm more interested in feeding on dense nutrition than in gaining muscle mass these days. I eat real food protein and assume it's enough.

Eat a damn steak and let yur salivating juices run down yur chin rather than that pansy drink. I had a steak last night plus fried potatoes and proper salad and still had a scoop on my muesli breakfast. you must be a sloppy eater to have saliva running out your gob M8!
I do use micronized creatine monohydrate in water right after my after workout smoothie.
It's said that the only time for whey to do it's job is right after an intense workout.

Per Vince Gironda - I eat 30-36 eggs a day, 8oz beef and a huge salad every day. I also drink at least a gallon of water a day. The eggs are mostly eaten raw with a half-cup of half-and-half. No dairy, no protein supplements or creatine, vegetables but no fruit. Started this in July, LOST six pounds and got stronger. I like DLs as some here know, and last year I bombed on a 435 DL, and missed it again in June this year. October 1st I did it for 2 reps. Maybe a coincidence, but I'm convinced the egg factor helped.
However, those I've talked to who have also adopted this strategy told me to give it up after three or four months and resume my normal diet for a few weeks or two or three months.

Per Vince Gironda - I eat 30-36 eggs a day Raw whole eggs in a blender including the shell. Eggshells are not only one of the cheapest sources of calcium — they also appear to be among the most effective.

Fast - If I could share Vince died at 79 of a massive heart attack after several years of health issues leading up to his death. Starting around age 74, he began suffering issues with angina and had TIAs and leading up to his passing, was in deteriorating health. His bud, Rheo Blair, reportedly died of a massive heart attack from the same diet. Vince's diet wasn't too different from Atkins' and we know he had some pretty serious heart issues despite allegedly dying as the result of a head injury. www.wsj.com/articles/SB107637899384525268Just passing on for your consideration.

Eggshells are not only one of the cheapest sources of calcium — they also appear to be among the most effective. Unfortunately, Vince didn't understand human health nor our ancestral history. Humans, during our evolution, never, ever ate eggs in large quantities advocated by people like Atkins and Gironda nor were the eggs that may have been consumed laden with SFAs and cholesterol like our domesticated sources. While in Asia, they serve an egg (sometimes two) from ducks and the yolks are smaller and a deep, deep orange-yellow. Nothing like what we get via domesticate US poultry. Even wild game is far leaner and much, much higher in Omega 3s over Omega 6 fatty acids along with low SFA content. And in the wild, trying to find eggs in large quantities is would be impossible -- you're not scaling trees to get to a nest or digging around in marshes for food when other options are more accessible such as bugs, small animals (rabbits, etc.) vs. eggs.

I was watching a tv program finding a new dig site with one of our earliest human not previously known about. They had a lot of bone with teeth and scrapped the teeth to find out what the diet was. Basically a vegetarian diet similar to a chimpanzee. They also discovered these early human were not warlike and didn't have weapons but did make tools, they were not hunters yet.
