If the goal was to actually protect children or anyone, there would not be "gun free zones".

Yep I agree, I don't think guns should be legal because i'm a numbers guy and the numbers indicate the countries where guns are banned have almost no mass shootings but that's easy for me to say living in another country with more civilized folk (just kidding) but yeah, i can't comment on gun laws over there because i'm not in that country, I do however agree with this. it seems ridiculous that a guy who is legally allowed to own a gun can lose the plot and not give a shit about the law and walk into a "gun free zone" where every normal sane person is following the laws. It's like allowing one UFC fighter to enter the cage with a knife.

Countries with the most restrictive gun laws have the highest crime rates since t hose who want them to commit crime will always have them. It's 150 years+ too late to talk about eliminating guns or making them illegal. Guns are not a problem. Wackos are the problem. Guns are just a power tool and, like any power tool, the operator is responsible for safety in use. A citizen with a firearm, who knows how to use it, is the wackos worst nightmare, as Eli Dicken, awarded "Citizen Of The Year" recently made perfectly clear.

That's common sense. They never had any BLM Riots/Looting in cities that have stand you own ground gun laws - trespass or try to loot my property and you get shot. US cities with the strictest gun laws have the most crimes. The lefties don't people to have he ability to protect themselves. Look at what happened here in NYC. They finally decided to drop the charges, but not the first time something like this has happened. Manhattan garage worker charged with attempted murder after shooting thief

During the BLM/Antifa (nazi-fascists) riots, when they were threatening to go out into the country to kill, loot and burn farms and such, I heard multiple comments form random fellow rural dwellers that they were looking forward to them doing just that because ..... they needed some target practice.

That's a piss poor example imho, those countries are rife with crime for reasons that have nothing to do with guns. Like I said I don't particularly care for the debate on whether the USA should have guns or not because I'm not there, My concern is countless children are being slaughtered by these wackos because the "Power tools" they have available. Look to countries more similar to the USA for statistics on crimes etc without guns for a more accurate example unless the USA is filled with wackos and starving people like the list of countries in that link? Also the severity of crime is another variable we have to take into consideration such as petty theft vs homicide, I'd take a million petty thefts over a classroom of 9 year olds being shot to pieces. I know over there my view on this particular subject would be considered "leftist" but I can assure you i'm far from it regarding other issues. I do think it is impossible to get rid of guns in the USA at this point but I also think all arguments for guns are absolute horseshit and don't stand up to modern times. That being said I agree 100% there should be no "gun free zones" because it's just stupidity. Also the idea of a hero killing the bad guy with a gun is the most American thing I hear makes me giggle some.

The data shows that guns in the hands of responsible people deter crime.

Deterrence IS the determining factor in preventing an attack: if the outcome odds can strongly leave someone injured (or worse), then said someone (usually) leaves the target alone.

I agree, when the level of both offense and defense is scaled down from "Power tools" to fists, objects and even blades it usually means a much lesser occurrence of death but the Deterrent is still the same.
