I do eat potatoes. They don't give me any problems. I usually throw them in my steamer in the morning then take them for lunch to eat with meat. I was going very heavy on them then started reading about the carnivore reasoning for not eating them, mostly stuff in the skin of the potato was a problem, and I'm not peeling any potatoes. I will probably be adding them back in as eliminating grains completely has left some space to fill in my daily meals. Walnuts and apples aren't that filling beyond a very short period.

I am mostly vegetarian and low carb, eat a lot of nuts, eggs, yogurt and cottage cheese, plus significant vegetables.
I do eat some meat, mostly chicken and turkey and some fish, but beef and pork have never much appealed to me other than bacon, and that has been true since I was a child. I can go a long time without craving any meat of any kind.
I also pretty much never eat grains or potatoes.

Diets are quite simple. Eat stuff in the outside aisle of the supermarket. Anything with a short shelf life is healthy. If it comes in a box or package and lasts for months it's not food it's a product. Eat food.

I only really eat meat now if I’m eating out. Day to day I prefer fish. Some nights I’ll just use different types of bean for protein with my main meal.
One of the main reasons for the switch was that meat is getting so expensive if you want quality cuts.

From the Minger link “And then the plot turned once more! Seriously, this saga had more twists than a pretzel factory. A fascinating but woefully little-known study in 2011 showed that in mice, supplementing with glycine—an amino acid found abundantly in connective tissue and gelatin and bone broth—had the exact same life-extending effect as restricting methionine. Without reducing calories or other amino acids, glycine supplementation increased the rodents’ lifespan, reduced fasting glucose and insulin, decreased IGF-1 levels, and nearly halved their triglycerides—the very perks that’ve variously been attributed to calorie restriction, protein restriction, and methionine restriction.
Let me make it abundantly clear: THIS IS HUGE. If the glycine finding translates over to humans (which I strongly suspect it does), life-extension-seekers may be barking up the wrong tree—or at least an unnecessarily complicated one—by trying to selectively reduce animal protein in order to live longer, as Longo seems to support. A wiser method could be simply getting a more “biologically appropriate” balance of amino acids than the standard Western diet typically provides. That means eating more of the glycine-rich foods that’ve been gradually stripped from our menus—things like skin, bones, tendons, tripe, feet, hooves, ears, connective tissue, and some organ meats—and less of the muscle meat typically dominating our fridges and freezers”

Thanks Denis, that's why I've recently added a scoop of beef collagen powder to my morning bulletproof coffee. Probably why the carnivorous indigenous tribes of North America were so healthy (before they were introduced to whiskey and other treats). They ate nose to tail of what they killed, mostly bison. At one time I think the Cherokee were on average the tallest people known to the world (excluding the Masai...who also drank blood, milk, and ate lots meat). Muscle meat would have been the LAST thing people ate raw, as its naturally very tough compared to the soft organs and marrow they could suck out of the bones.

I eat whatever I fancy, yesterday we went to an Indian restaurant and the boneless goat curry I got was really good. Indo-Caribbean style saucy goat with basmati rice an naan bread. I've had Jamaican curry a while back but that had a lot of bones with the meat, bone goodness eh!
I have no diet restrictions, not much into sugary stuff, rather have a sausage roll than a slice of cake.
