Yeah that is a good way to look at it. I've tried it both ways also. Yeah and I'll be sticking with direct arm work also. I believe most guys here shun arm work and that's ok, it's their preference. It might sound funny to some but mostly my performance suffered and so did my development. One thing I noticed was some movements for work were a chore. Sounds funny but some people I work with feel the same movements in their shoulders where I would feel it in my biceps.

I've merged all the biceps threads into one thread. Yes, I've discovered how to merge threads on here at long last. Merging seemed the right thing to do as Michael started most of the biceps threads crying about how not everyone here trains biceps, m8s.

Here's my contribution. It's a chin up variation that really targets the biceps.
I use Bruce's Hook handles on a hook screwed into the top of a door frame to do this.

Thanks for confusing me by merging threads ! 🤣🤣🤣
I’ve found my arm size shrinks without direct arm work. I’ve experimented with this many times and it always happens.

I like the way that it now says that I started the thread even though I didn't. I can now claim that I'm the creator of the most popular thread on here.

I tricked Bruv so I can have proof everyone here likes to train arms but won't admit it. I win again!

I watched a little bit of the video Bruv posted. I don't know I have to test this out. I've always felt chins in my lats because I concentrate on pulling from the back. I actually feel chins more in my back then pullups. At least it's a more feeling concentrated. That's why I just do direct arm work.

Chin ups are not a biceps exercise - they are involved but you cannot chin with biceps alone, unless you have biceps strong enough to pretty much curl your bodyweight. I think this is one of the reasons a lot of people who don't train fail to do a single rep, they are trying to curl themself up. To make the chin up primarily a biceps movement, you would be arcing away from the bar, who has the strength to do that? I tried some biceps focussed reps yesterday. I could not stop the bulk of the work being done by my back, hardly felt arms at all despite my intentions. I have decades of pull ups and chin ups experience and my biceps are at beat mediocre. I'm on the michael bandwagon, but I also do not enjoy training biceps.

Yeah I agree Stuke with what You wrote. I know I said I'll test it out but really I've done it many times. , most of the people that told me all You need for biceps is pullups/chins or dips for triceps usually have smaller arms than myself. I don't much care about having big arms. I just don't want them to look like there is skin falling off the bone. , years ago this old guy took his shirt off and started flexing. I couldn't stop laughing because the other guy said he looked like a plucked chicken. His skin looked like it was just hanging off his arms. The gymnast thing doesn't come down to just one exercise they do. It mostly has to do with Time Under Tension of all the stuff they do. When I use to do handstand holds or pushups, I would feel them in my biceps.
