I like animals and feed my neighbor's cows and calves on the weekends....not a cat person, although we've had two cats. Had the best dog ever, my buddy Billy, a Doberman who my daughter found abandoned on a roadside. She brought him home and we couldn't have had a better dog if we were able to pick one. Beautiful dog and in great shape, my wife fed him carefully and him and he and I used to run/walk in the nearby preserve. He's been gone for 6 years and I still miss him I remember all that very well, Matey. The sitting together under a starry night sky etc. It doesn't seem like 6 years to me. Only a long yesterday.
This thread has been solid proof that Canegurus, no matter how tough they can be, given the necessary circumstances, have a respect for all life under the Sun and the Moon, and will act accordingly for the betterment of their beloved families and animal friends.
I am in the company of gentlemen.
Thank you macky

...........I am in the company of gentlemen.
Where? Who? Us?!?Apologies, all but Alan the raconteur extraordinaire and crowd inciter.
Mind you, you might look a little more gentlemanly with the inclusion of yourself smoking one of those Dr John pipes in your avatar. You know, that sort of distinguished senior sage look that a certain ex-Portland inhabitant tried to cultivate, but never quite made it after his world-notable pushups youtube.

Thanks for the generous compliments and sage advice, M8ty. That was right neighborly of you.
I can always learn from my betters.

H2O2 is what I use on deep wounds like this or on dog bites. It's called Hydrogen "Peroxide", but technically is Hydrogen Dioxide due to the 2 atoms of hydrogen. Using the H2O2, I haven't needed the hospital when a cat has laid me open. Same for deep dog bite. (I did need to use suture bandaids to close the cat scratches though.) Anyway, glad you survived! Thanks, mikey. Since my life is surrounded by cats, I'm gonna get some H2O2 to keep on hand. An extremely well-informed fitness forum head honcho has informed me that applying H2O2 to an animal scratch or bite is no good. The vet says it will drive bacteria/infection deeper onto the wound. Instead, wash thoroughly with soap and water, and then apply iodine. What can I say? TR warned ya'll.
