….....and with the meds I'm on, I feel like I'm moving slowly through an alternative reality. Really ? I feel like that without any meds...…….

Real men are affectionate to animals. There is nothing macho in harming creatures or even disregarding their suffering. Compassion is the ultimate value. It should encompass our society, others' societies, other animal species, forests, oceans and the planet as a whole. Physical fitness which brings us all to this forum is actually ourselves being compassionate to our own bodies. longevity and better quality of life especially in older age is a noble pursuit as it allows us to be more actively compassionate for a longer time. What Silverlooks said. I would only add that I have the utmost contempt for deliberate cruelty. There's something really sick about getting pleasure from seeing another creature suffer. All living beings are related, and we all share a common ancestor from about 4 billion years ago.

I like animals and feed my neighbor's cows and calves on the weekends....not a cat person, although we've had two cats. Had the best dog ever, my buddy Billy, a Doberman who my daughter found abandoned on a roadside. She brought him home and we couldn't have had a better dog if we were able to pick one. Beautiful dog and in great shape, my wife fed him carefully and him and he and I used to run/walk in the nearby preserve. He's been gone for 6 years and I still miss him

Bruce it is good to read that you are doing ok. I had a friend that just went through 6 weeks of life or death hell after getting a septic infection following surgery.

Today is my last day on antibiotics. Thank Gawd! I'm tired of drifting around in a haze. I couldn't take it anymore and just a little while ago I put myself through a bonafide PR workout - the first since I was released. Felt great! It was nice to have isos and KSHD to fall back on over the last few days, but they're like hors devoures compared to the main course.
I'd like to thank all of you again who expressed your concerns and well wishes.
Preshait it!
