Let me lay this out as clearly as I can one last time. I measured my arm after my last wights/bands workout two weeks ago - 17 3/8". I know that, based upon experience, it would have measured 16 7/8"cold. After two weeks of KSHD, my arm measured 17 1/8" immediately after a workout. The next morning it measured 17 1/8" cold.

Maybe you should alternate between KSHD and bands, so that you will range from 17 1/8 minimum to 17 3/8 maximum.

Actually, this is all moot. As I said in the beginning, I was taking a break from my regular weights/bodyweight/Hook routine. I started back up with my regular routine this morning.

OK, I think I see our communication disconnect. I'm defining "Muscle Growth while Sleeping" as being adding actual muscle tissue - building muscle - which does happen when we are at rest. But, that's not what you're saying. You appear to be talking about the temporary pump that causes the muscles to swell and referring to that as "muscle growth" when it is just temporary enlargement and will disappear quickly. Too bad we can't all use the same dictionary, but what would be fun about that?

Who cares? Just so long as it happens while you're sleeping.

Hmmm....just in case anyone is interested in "muscle growth while sleeping", I have a book around somewhere that recommends you train one bodypart right before you go to bed, with just a set or two, and then get to sleep as fast as you can, according to the author you will grow better since the body goes right into recuperation and rebuild mode. Never tried it though, by bedtime the last thing I want to do is another set. Somebody do it and report to HQ.

As far as I'm concerned, mornings are for working out, and the rest of the day is for doing whatever you gotta do.

Fred what are Your thoughts on muscle growth for a middle age or older man that has trained most of his life? Do You feel they just change in body composition or can they actually put on size without body fat? Forgot to add, without chemicals. I know what others will say but I'd like to hear your opinion if You don't mind.

At age 65 I added over an inch to my arms in one month with my mega arm blasting routine. I'm thinking of doing it again at 70.

Michael, all I can say is that at age 55 my shoulders and upper arms are noticeably bigger than ever before; my thighs also, I believe are bigger than ever, in fact I have trouble finding pants that fit because pants that have the proper waistline, I can't pull over my thighs. And I'm not fat either, my abs show although I don't have the freakish definition I had when doing all those long hold isometrics years ago. And these gains in muscle size are all in the last five years or so. And I've been training nonstop since I was 12. So I would have to say that yes you definitely can gain muscle mass even in your 50's. I have to add, also, that my diet is not really a mass building diet at all, I am a vegetarian and I really don't eat very much, not really enough to support large mass gains. If I went back to eating meat and structured my diet for gaining mass I would probably do even better.
