Yes, I do this with one bucket, and in the crouched chimp walk. I visualize the circus big-top is on fire, and they've sent me, the trusted chimp, to fetch a pail. Ape strength starts with ape brain.

...... It doesn't make him a bad person... Of course not. I didn't even consider that you meant he was a "bad person". Sure, he's different, but so is Dr Len Schwartz, Ross Enamait, Matt Schifferle, Jason Gallant, Steve Justa, etc. Same old, same old doesn't move us forward. BTW, ALL strength is functional. No such thing as strength that isn't strong. Just so ya' know because we live in different parts of the country with likely different vernacular: Here in the NYC area the... "It doesn't make him a bad person"... is something said at the end of a statement or 'quip' that could possibly be perceived as taunting; it's usually used to show no actual disdain for someone after describing some eccentricity, oddity or peculiarity about them. Here's an example of what I mean... "Yeah, he gets his panties in a bunch over nuthin' and quits the forum like a little bitch in a huff. But no worries, he'll eventually come to his senses and be back before ya' know it. It doesn't make him a bad person"...

Sorry, I don't know which of your favorite strength & fitness celebrities you heard that from, but I can promise you with 100% certainty that it's absolutely wrong info. We can have that discussion in a different thread... *Case in point, a powerlifting coach would be a really bad choice when deciding on who is going to train a person to become a champion boxer, because all of that strength built in the 3 powerlifts will do pretty much nothing to help, and will more than likely hinder progress...

I'm trying to put together a non functional strength training workout. I want to be strong but totally unable to do anything, m8s. Do lots of flat bench pressing and concentration curls, m8. Keep at it for a few years and definitely make sure to limit your other activities like sports participation, calisthenics and stretching, etc. In just a few years time you'll be as stiff as a board and injury prone as humanly possible, but boy oh boy will it be worth it after you've built yourself a world class pair of 'man boobs' and a very weak but awesomely 'peaked' set of biceps ! High five, bro!

Yes, 'vernacular' A vernacular or vernacular language is in contrast with a "standard language". It refers to the language or dialect that is spoken by people that are inhabiting a particular country or region. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vernacular

Yeah, that's functional training, specific to an activity. The strength they each had, they still have, and if they have strength, it functions. The powerlifter still has his strength that functions. If it doesn't function, he doesn't have strength. I'm sticking with what I said about this subject in Feb of 2019. I have nothing new to add.
