Took my gf and her two sons the rampart buffet. Had prime rib ( was awesome), some veggies, a slice of pizza, lobster ravioli, and yes, some Christmas cookies. No foods were “ off limits”. A very satisfying Christmas meal. What that be Gingerbread man cookies ? Ya know billfish, a little here, a little there….

A very satisfying Christmas meal. That sounds like a spectacular meal! Thanks for the well wishes everyone, happy to report I’m feeling a lot better.

Since I found out I have to watch my blood pressure I’m not really one for overindulging now as I’d like to stay medication free . I had a roast dinner but without all the trimmings.
I used to love eating lots of cheese over the festive holidays but have stopped that.
I find I don’t get enough pleasure from eating treats to make it worth it.

Your blood pressure is too high? What causes that?

Your blood pressure is too high? What causes that? Likely hereditary from mum. . But work stress doesn’t help either!

Had a great 3 days eating, not so much one meal, just constant a little here and there....stayed festive and gained a few pounds.
Nice that all seemed to have a good holiday experience.
Good to hear Mr. Dave doing well as he recuperates.

Good to hear Mr. Dave doing well as he recuperates. If you “costed” out what you ate calories wise, it’s not likely you gained 3 lbs. in 3 days, maybe half that at most. The balance is water retention, dump retention and not flossing. The weight could be down 2 lbs. in one day with a good sweat and diuretic food choices along with a killer dump. Good luck and go for it!

I'm still 10 lbs down from last year at this time and close to my low of 204 from a few months ago.
Already thinking of the New Years goals of more fat loss and increased strength and flexibility.

Skinless chicken breast, onion, tomato wrapped in bacon and some Oxo cube spinkled on top, then wrapped in foil and cooked in the oven. Carrots, cabbage and green beans, with Yorkshire puds, roast potatoes and gravy.

I always have a bucket list of fitness goals that are quantified with measures. Here's something to give you some New Year 2022 fitness thoughts: pierini-fitness.blogspot.com/2009/12/diet-and-fitness-affirmations-from-to-z.html

I've never enjoyed turkey but I'm expected to eat it so this year I remembered not to fill up on guiness beforehand.

Likely hereditary from mum. . But work stress doesn’t help either! Oh dear. It’s annoying when you lose control over your body like this. For example, if you read down a list of foods meant to help lower it, I eat most of them. That said, when I was measuring my blood pressure multiple times per day, two things really helped: CBD oil and beetroot capsules. They got it right down to a normal level: only problem with CBD is the cost. It does help relax me a lot, as I’m naturally prone to be quite uptight and anxious. What also shocked me is how much stress can instantly spike it. I’d measure it after a stress event at work (complaining email) and it would skyrocket instantly, then later drop once I’d calmed down a bit.
