President Trump definitely bitch-slapped Joe Biden last night and actually showed he can have decent manners for a New Yorker when he wants to. Channeling Macky.

Well I haven't watched the debate, so all I can say at this point is that because it's you Pierini, I believe you. Good on Trump then.
Now if he only behaves sensibly for the next four years (assuming he gets in) then my opinion (it's only an opinion) may change.
My suspicion is that for once he listened to his advisors who told him in no uncertain terms that his first debate with Biden did him a lot of damage, and if he doesn't pull his head in this time, he'll stand an even better chance of losing the election.
Of course, Trump will always have the Covid thing over his head, and there certainly will be quite a number of US citizens who will never forgive him.
I'll watch the debate later when I get home and comment further. Promise.

Okay I watched just over 50 minutes of the debate. As expected it started with questions re the Covid virus and pretty much all Trump had to say was you can't lock the country down and make the cure worse than the disease, or words to that effect. Biden of course gets in on Trump's non-response etc etc.
Trump got in before long on the Democrats re the virus, whereas Biden's response was that the virus was a United States problem, not a Dem or Rep issue. On that he is right. To me, that was his most memorable comment.
Then it went on to the foreign interference in US elections and then onto money being paid to Biden and his family by Russia or the Ukraine, with the same thing being shot back at Trump etc etc. China, North Korea, Russia, Iran.
Policies on adversary countries followed with contrary views. Healthcare plans, then I quit. The back and forths were not provable by any outsider, I would say most US citizens, and there was no point in continuing to watch.
Trump behaved this time. I think he knew the mute button was there and would be used if he performed like last time, and as I said above, I'm sure his advisors told him to pull his head in for once, because this was going to be his last chance, at least as far as debates are concerned. Biden spent a lot of time in denial, maybe he was right, maybe not.
To be fair, I looked up Fox News on the debate and according to them, Trump won handsomely. I couldn't see it over 50 minutes but he DID come across as reasonable in his manner, a refreshing change from the past.
Then I looked up Washington Post and their general comments were that Biden held his own and Trump didn't do enough for a convincing win. There were other criticisms of Trump as well.
So America is as divided as ever. Almost like two separate countries.
I think like in NZ, the US election will reflect the virus, and the response. Other issues of course, but mainly the increasing numbers of new cases (over 80,000 Friday, and 1000 deaths) will be the deciding factor.
At the last, it's the People's perception of the pandemic and their perception of the non-response of Trump that will tell the most once the votes are all counted.

.... At the last, it's the People's perception of the pandemic and their perception of the non-response of Trump that will tell the most once the votes are all counted. It's a true statement without the ".... of the non-response ...." part, so I fixed it for you. It's curious though that, although the false spin up here is to suggest that Trump failed, yet a true statement "..... perception of the FAKE pandemic ...." was omitted. Simple MSM narrative spin at it's finest.

Okay so I hope you send some advice to the doctors and nurses in hospitals that are absolutely exhausted and let them know they're wasting their time trying to treat patients that are suffering from fake pandemic syndrome.
It certainly looks like 8,747,864 recorded fake pandemic cases in the US yesterday could do with some sound advice. Maybe Del Bigtree can help. He's already said that Neil Ferguson who predicted a certain number of fake pandemic cases was wrong, wrong, wrong. Despite the fact that Ferguson never got a chance to see if he was right, right, right because the UK acted on his advice before said number of fake pandemic cases could possibly take place.
And I guess Trump had to go to hospital and be treated for serious fake pandemic symptoms was only trying to get some sympathy to bump up his campaign for Prezzy. He had 14 doctors according to Trump, and of course you believe every word he sez.
And all those military doctors were seriously deluded, thinking they were treating Covid 19. Aren't they so silly ? And by the way, you better be wearing a suit of armour when you go advising the families that lost 229,000+ loved ones that in fact their deaths weren't valid because they died of something else, not a pandemic which was fake.
As I said, it's the perception the People have that will influence their vote, whether the pandemic is fake or what.
And if you still think Trump's response was in any way appropriate to a known dangerous (he said so himself) virus that he was told could spread to a pandemic, then perhaps you are watching too many Foxy bedtime stories.
The other side of your old friend, the MSM in fact.

How much personal up close, high daily contact with a completely COVID infected facility do any of you have? None, and I don't want to have any, thank you very much. My last post was pure sarcasm, and I think that despite many issues regarding the authenticity of the tests, the stats that keep climbing "not reflecting the true picture", the mis-steps like in the UK sending all the oldies back to their retirement homes in order to not block up the hospitals etc etc, I am prepared to accept that a pandemic is in progress as we speak, and that people have passed away from Covid 19 or related health issues that hastened their deaths because of the virus, notwithstanding those researchers (on here as well) that due to their diligent efforts have an alternative viewpoint. Whether the odd scientist or researcher has found alternative methods of treating the virus that work, or not, the general perception by the bulk of the public around the world is that Covid 19 presents a serious global emergency and measures have to be taken that attempt to stop the spread, as much as possible. Whether that perception is entirely true or not, THAT is what the American election will be primarily decided on, in my opinion. Anybody who continues to deny that Trump's response to the incoming virus was anything else but cavalier, irresponsible, uncaring, and an outright abdication of his responsibility as the President of the United States of America is living in denial, a wonderland where everything is the same as they were pre-Covid virus. Well tell that to 229,000 families in the US alone whose family members were with them at the beginning of this year, but are now absent. Also if you don't believe in masks or social distancing as ATTEMPTED measures to avoid infection, then go and visit someone who the doctors have diagnosed as suffering from Covid 19, note how ill they are before giving them a big heartening hug and kiss just to try and make them feel a little better about the whole thing. And if you are one of the fraternity who think that having a pandemic is a great way for the govt to control the people, then spend the next day picking holes in such a theory when and if you come to your senses.

I'm exposed daily in a prison that has been experiencing an "outbreak" since mid July. Lockdown was instituted, controlled movements, masks were worn, and everything sanitized daily with covid killer starting in March. We've had several hundred inmates test positive along with a quarter of the staff. With all this, we only had a single inmate that had to be taken to a hospital for special treatment, but he had other underlying issues. All the staff that I've talked to only 2 said there brains were splitting in two, most said the felt fine. Nearly all of the inmate complaints had been mild headache, stuffy nose, and a loss of taste and thats it.
Macky you should leave NZ and head to Atlanta and apply at CNN, you'd fit in perfect there. I hope you get your foreign wish on our Presidential election, as you seem to know whats best for our country better than we do.

I hope you get your foreign wish on our Presidential election, as you seem to know whats best for our country better than we do. Firstly, I don't think that Biden is any really good substitute for Trump, and I've said that before on a couple of occasions. Secondly, what happens in America ends up filtering down into the Five Eyes Group (at least) of which NZ is a part. There are people here who emulate the criticisms of endemic US racism, for example, while they and members of their action group have very little to complain about, holding high positions themselves and aligning with known persons whose word is not taken seriously, even by their own people. Most of their complaints are of an historical nature which I fully agree with (and I've had stick for) but have very little to do with what's happening here on a daily basis. The economics of the US certainly filter down here, the corporate influence on govt plainly obvious at times. The NZ military support for the latest US "war on terror" etc. Third, I certainly do NOT know what's best for your country. How could I when the country is so deeply divided along political partisan lines (evidenced on this forum by extreme comments, justified or not). Divided economically with the rich very rich, and the poor very poor, which is a betrayal by the extreme "haves" on their own countrymen and the failure of Rampant Capitalism. The racial divisions, alive and well on all sides. My view is that the Unites States Of America should change its name simply to the Fifty States Of America and leave it at that. United it is not. There's Trump playing the Democrat card again in the early stages of the debate when the virus is quite obviously neither red or blue. He can't keep on blaming others for his own failings, something which he is well known for. As for your prison, and I have only the utmost respect for those that work there, the prison would have worked like one of the ships that acted as incubators, most likely everyone breathing the same air over and over again and finally becoming infected. Like the ships, many people confined, the virus moving through the air. And I might speculate that the general state of age and fitness contributed to the lack of serious medical concerns. And how can anyone advise on what's best to do when conspiracy theories like QAnon have such a grip, even to the highest levels of govt among a few. The place is crazy. The Fifty States Of America are being eaten from within, a caution from Lincoln himself, so long ago.

And, the racist crap is growing old, they've played the game until its just about over. Once we evil white Anglo-Saxon's have had enough, we've had enough. I'm good to everyone, but I have my limits. They are going to continue until they get something started they do not want.

When antifa and blm venture too far from their safe city sanctuaries, its not going to be good for them. I won't be messed with, and the many around me will not be either. But they're smart, they know where they can get away with it and where they can't.
