I know I'm a bad boy! but really didn't have that much sausage and I'm not really heavy into meat eating but it may seem that way. This week we did buy some lean ground beef and some Fritos.
Vegan sex is true, after I started the Vegan challenge my libido went crazy, I've never needed Viagra or out but nowadays it's like I'm 16 again.

You're posting this after you had that thread on your sausage bake? Some of these vegans are whacked out....my wife was talking to a woman who is a vegan ( and looks like she tips the scales at 300 lbs ) and my wife mentioned that she eats eggs but limits herself on the yolks. The vegan was shocked and blurted out " But, they are the babies " !

Yeah, but this advice makes too much sense. So many need a guru to look up to, and need them to tell them what to do/ how to live All the “ ism’s”, whether it be vegetarianism, veganism, etc, are religions. Many ( obviously not all ) who follow these dogmatic approaches, are comforted by a false sense of superiority that these approaches provide.

I generally post stuff on Vegan eating to bring a bit of attention to plants in diet, I know too many blokes who are meat and potato or meat and pasta. Maybe I think some people needs to see what a salad looks like, I inspired a workmate to bring what he called a salad to work, a small plastic container with chopped iceberg lettuce and pepper.
I did the Vegan challenge to improve my plant eating variety. Actually I walked past a Vegan restaurant this morning which has an outside front eating deck, the usual people are quite the snooty type, who think they are dead cool, but they're not.

BF,
OTOH, I ate at a vegan restaurant in LA called Gracias Madre and some amazing food and some amazingly lean and fit people.
And, there are people who think chips and frankenfoods are vegan...lots of bread is ok...juice is healthy. Your 300lb person no doubt fits into this category...there's a vegan buffet that is (or was? haven't been in years) north of downtown Dallas and 80% of the food on the serving line was processed carbs. You can imagine what the patrons looked like. And sadly, it wasn't even that good.
So, it is what you make it.
The thing about a vegan diet and what Thinman experienced?

You're posting this after you had that thread on your sausage bake? Wasn't a certain tighty-whitey pants wearing internationally renowned strength and fitness coach a vegan at one time ?

I think a plant based diet, with an emphasis on greens, with seasonal fruits, coupled with small amounts of high quality animal proteins, lots of water, and if desired, moderate amounts of alcohol, works best, at least for me.
No “ ism’s”, no dogma.

No “ ism’s”, no dogma. I'm not -- to restate, not -- vegan. However, I do learn a lot from the vegan authors. I've tried it...a lot of positives, some negatives. But -- opinion only -- unless you know how to properly create a proper vegan diet and take the required nutrients that are completely missing from the diet, you're taking a chance with your long term health. For example, if a vegan doesn't consume Vitamin B-12 regularly, they will face serious health issues and death. People with multiple titles after their names like Ben Greenfield and even vegan MD Joel Kahn have a list of specific amino acids that are recommended. Not worth going hard core unless it is absolutely critical to your health. People with autoimmune diseases such as lupus, certain cancers, etc., may see miracles as a result of going vegan. But, I keep animal proteins to around 60g/day (may range as high as 70 and as low as 30) which is where the people who have dug into the science...Rosedale, Longo -- too many to name...have recommended. And no loss in strength, etc., and a lower grocery bill. Today, my first "meal" was at 10am which included a "protein" shake using a vegan protein someone gave me to try out (jury's out on taste -- right now, blech) and with a peach and pecans. So, 25g/protein so far today.

Wine and vodka if I know it is made from potatoes. The last time I had a beer made from hops, barley or whatever, ended up on Benadryl.
