It's good to see that Walmart is giving Amazon competition in online selling . The Cobra Grips are a good example . They'd greatly help with both relaxed and pulling one/two arm hangs. A grip assisted 5 minute two arm hang is quite doable ( with unknown benefits)

Of course include Amazon in the " high cost of low prices" scenario . Soon CVS and Walgreen's may also suffer. Even my beloved Costco could be victimized .

As one of the exercises in my new iso routine, I've been doing a version of this. I sit on the floor with my legs straddled, reach up, grab hold of the handles, pull myself up as far as I can, letting my legs go limp, and hold it for 35 seconds. Over the ensuing weeks I will try to increase the length of the hold.

Mikey I understand why one would use assistance but here's a couple questions. Why not work up to not needing assistance, just curious? What reason did he give for using assistance?
Bruce that's a good exercise. Like I partially mentioned on another thread I use to do isometric pull ups. I would do 3 positions. I would use a chair for chin over the bar. Since I'm already doing Isometrics now I think next week these will be in my routine, Thanks.

Why would he get more Bullworkers? He never uses the one he has.
I actually purchased two of my bullies - the brownie which I got almost 40 years ago, and the iso-x7. Three I got through trades, and one was simply given to me.

Jack, grip assistors will always create longer hangs and greater pulls weights than unassisted no matter how strong your grip gets. Of course, performing unassisted exercise is a beneficial practice

Mikey I understand why one would use assistance but here's a couple questions. Why not work up to not needing assistance, just curious? What reason did he give for using assistance? You'd probably get the best (and longest) answer from Pete, but from what I've heard him say to compare primate hands to human hands, our hands are not naturally adapted as well to hanging for the total amount of time every day as apes hang and hanging is very beneficial. He also says that, grip assistance or not, you'll still work your grip while you give the rest of your body a longer duration stretch. He's also, more recently it seems, into squatting which is a very universally common and frequent natural posture for man and ape species. Squatting in various ways is something I started doing before I knew anything about Pete's stuff, so when he started talking about it, I already agreed. It's kinda interesting to watch his development over the past several years, starting w/ the 61 Custom Rebuild channel. He's been learning in public as he goes and sometimes he realizes something during the making of the videos which he presents unedited except for occasional stops/starts to reposition camera and such. I suppose a person could work up to longer hangs by one arm. I've been hanging by two for quite some time tho and might like to experiment with more one arm hangs since it seems to give a good feeling stretch. Until I get a pair of those Cobra things, I think I'll start to develop the habit of occasional one arm hangs w/ the rubber faced gloves. The thing that makes me apprehensive of doing OAHs is that I'll morph into favoring one arm over the other. I like to keep my exercise affecting my body in balanced ways and OAHs will require that I pay more attention to lapsed time and hanging by one arm the same as hanging by the other. Another reason why I've stuck w/ two arm hangs so far. Now, aren't you glad you didn't ask Pete?

Progressing with one arm hangs : use the non working arm to apply varying degrees of assistance . At the very least , have it ready as a spotter

Hey guys. I need to do other things and may not post for a while. I've been unusually wordy lately, but I'm tired of typing. Thanks for your understanding.

You don't understand. You probably have some ass pad. @ 130# & 5' 8"+ change, if I'm not careful, I can sit on my balls. They get a leeeetle bit cramped after prolonged sitting on my computer stool. Yes, grunt, I have considered a 'stand at' desk, but, no, I'm not setting one up. I just get up and move around or do some stretching or other exercise occasionally - like I just did - but having been up, now I've thought of something else to post over on that other thread .....

When I hang twice a week for grip strength I just hang by feel from a regular pull up bar. In the past I would try to progress to harder hangs I would use towels and ropes. By the way don't take this the wrong way, but do You eat? How in the heck did You get to 130 lbs? That amazes me, you must have no appeite.
