"Christ died for the ungodly" Romans 5:6
"Later, as Jesus left the town, he saw a tax collector named Levi (Matthew) sitting at his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Levi got up, left everything, and followed him.
Later, Levi held a banquet in his home with Jesus as the guest of honor. Many of Levi’s fellow tax collectors and other guests also ate with them. But the Pharisees and their teachers of religious law complained bitterly to Jesus’ disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with such scum?”
Jesus answered them, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor—sick people do. I have come to call .... not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners and need to repent.” (repent = turn away from unbelief and toward God and His Word). Luke 5:27 - 32
"I tell you, of all who have ever lived, none is greater than John. Yet even the least person in the Kingdom of God is greater than he is!”
When they heard this, all the people—even the tax collectors—agreed that God’s way was right, for they had been baptized by John.(mikey:chuckle Jesus so well understood humans, and why not, since He created them.) But the Pharisees and experts in religious law rejected God’s plan for them, for they had refused John’s baptism.
“To what can I compare the people of this generation?” Jesus asked. “How can I describe them? They are like children playing a game in the public square. They complain to their friends,
‘We played wedding songs, and you didn’t dance, so we played funeral songs, and you didn’t weep.’
For John the Baptist didn’t spend his time eating bread or drinking wine, and you say, ‘He’s possessed by a demon.’ The Son of Man, on the other hand, feasts and drinks, and you say, ‘He’s a glutton and a drunkard, and a friend of tax collectors and other sinners!’ But wisdom is shown to be right by the lives of those who follow it.” Luke 7:28 - 35 NLT

If god was going to give some land to people that he felt deserved special treatment then why did he give them Israel? It's not all that special.

If god was going to give some land to people that he felt deserved special treatment then why did he give them Israel? It's not all that special. (Yeah, I like Phil Collins, and Peter Gabriel too.) Right, so let them have it seems logical, but that's not the way it is prophesied in the Bible, m8, and God doesn't think like we think .... is what I read in the Book. Perhaps He's trying to make a point by giving them land that is not that special to show that it has nothing to do with geography? I don't know if that's an answer or not though.

If karma is real, and in many instances it is, then the Israeli war criminals will ironically face the same fate as the Nazi scumbag fighter pilot…

Thank you, Mags, for starting this thread. I appreciate the opportunity and am thoroughly enjoying quoting from the Bible, m8! Isaiah 1:18 Forget about judging others. Judge yourself. If you're looking at someone else to be a perfect "Christian" before you can believe God, you're just making excuses. As usual on any topic, I'm just sharing the best information I have to offer at this time. You're welcome, but aside from the Bible quotes would you happen to know any good prayers that can be quoted for the souls of the thousands of innocent dead civilians, in particular for the souls of the many children who were brutally slaughtered at the hands of the evil and sub-human Israeli military ?

"Christ died for the ungodly" Romans 5:6
Now there ya' go again with the 'unworthy' and 'needs to be saved' bullshit that drives good people away like an abusive and toxic relationship should. It's a good thing that there are viable positive and loving alternatives to all the negativity ...
