Pierini Fitness training 2/23/2020 Morning BW = 171.5 lbs.
Workout - Park 2:00 pm
#1 - run 6.0 miles in 1:04:15 - average HR = 145 bpm (81 percent) maximum HR = 160 bpm (89 percent) total 713 calories. Compare to last prior run on 1/31/2020 of 6.0 miles in 1:05:47 with average HR = 149 bpm and maximum HR of 169 bpm so the burpees have had spillover benefits.
#2 - HRR analysis - start of run 102 bpm - end of run 159 bpm - 1:00 = 123 bpm (36 bpm lower) - 2:00 = 109 bpm (50 bpm lower) - 3:00 = 109 bpm (50 bpm lower).
2/22/2020 was a rest day, morning BW was 170.7 lbs.
2/21/2020 was a rest day, morning BW was 171.4 lbs.
2/20/2020 was a rest day, morning BW was 170.4 lbs.
Ate more these days. Along with rest, I’m now ready for a productive training week and back to eating less (normal.)

Nice job on the 6 mile run. Have You noticed any other benefits from the burpees? Anything besides cardio wise? Are You going to start doing pull-ups again?
Some questions on fasting. I train fasted in the morning, always preferred it. It's only 10-12 hours. I know You train fasted way longer. From what I seen from You, You feed after You train. Have You ever not eaten after You trained? Like say a couple of hours? If You did, how did You feel? I think I know the answers to these questions. I was thinking about my past experiences from different fasts. I would go 6 hours or more without eating to get to my eating window. For example; For the 16/8 intermittent fasting I would stop eating at 8pm. I would train at 5am the next morning. I would not eat until 12 pm. So You know I did count calories. I think waiting this long to eat after I trained was a big problem for me. Would like to see Your opinion and experiences on this. Thanks

Michael, what I've noticed from doing burpees is more-recognizable agility throughout the day. Example is that doing a full BW squat cold without the benefit of exercise warm-up is a challenge for many, particularly older turds like me. Now, I'm able to drop down to a full squat on demand. I go to the post office daily to pick up mail because I have a business post office box. My box is the lower level, requiring either a bending over or squatting to insert the key and open the box. I can squat bounce down and back up more easily now. When I had fallen off the fitness training wagon in 2018, I couldn't even do a single full BW squat without having discomfort. Even with this discomfort, I still couldn't go all the way down. I had to work to reclaim my ability to do it. No more. I currently train fasted some days but not all, it depends on how I fell. I try not to be rigid. Last Lent 2019, I fasted 22 hours a day and didn't eat until the sun set so I always trained fasted. On Sunday, I'd do a long run for 60 minutes around the noon hour (give or take) and then wouldn't eat until the sun set which was 6-7 hours later That was more challenging. On days I was working, it wasn't as hard as my mind stayed busy. Given the physical nature of your work, it would be more challenging, depending on how smartly you fueled during your eating window. Based on the example you described, and even considering a physical job, I could follow it but I'd make darn sure that my last meal was an awesome one with good fats and calories to fill me up. I'd avoid snacks that would likely trigger me to wanting to eat. Surgery stuff for example. And, just like I do now, I'd have a very good and strong cup of black coffee in the morning to hold me over. Then, when the noon hour came around, I'd be hungry and would break my fast and eat well. Knowing that I'd do it again for dinner, with nothing between. There's nothing magical about fasting in my opinion besides helping you have a healthy relationship with food which is your fuel. I enjoy continuing my fasting lifestyle because of this and not because I'm trying to lose weight or obtain some other health benefits. I think most of us can achieve this by really focusing in on eating as little as possible to be as strong and healthy as we need to be given the life we live. Yesterday, I ended my fasting period at 1:35 pm after having started in the previous evening (2/23/2020) at 5:35 pm. I try to not eat past 6:00 pm, actually, prefer to be done by 5:00 pm but this is more challenging. I then ate a protein bar at that time and nothing until dinner which I started at 4:55 pm and was finished at 5:48 pm. I did a quick burpees workout at around 4:00 pm only having about 400 calories eaten a few hours earlier. Could I have run 6 miles eating only what I had? Yes, but I would have been very hungry afterwards and would have eaten about 700 more calories than what I did. My work and lifestyle for the most part, outside of exercise is sedentary so my situation is different than many. I, therefore, must exercise restraint in food consumption. Hope this sharing is helpful. Follow your intuition like you do. Fasting may not be smart for you. I know you're disciplined so you'll be well however you approach fueling your body.

Pierini Fitness training 2/27/2020 Morning BW - 170.3 lbs. Fasting period - 5:59 pm to 1:28 pm = 19 hours 29 minutes. Yesterday was Ash Wednesday, beginning of Lent 2019, and my fasting period was 7:02 pm to 5:30 pm = 22 hours 28 minutes. I had an unusually short eating period of only 29 minutes but I ate well.
Workout - Office - GTG bar dips x 10 and pull-up bar hang hold for 1:00 - #1 at 7:55 am - #2 at 8:51 am - #3 at 9:46 pm - #4 = 11:49 am - #5 at 4:21 pm - total of 100 bar dips and 5:00 of hang time.
Very busy at work so got to be smart about fitness training, grease the groove does a nice job of doing something rather than nothing. Planned on doing more bar dips rounds but work got in the way with several long telephone conversations with clients.

Pierini Fitness training 2/28/2020 Morning BW - 169.9 lbs.
Workout - Park near my office 1:08 pm
#1 = burpees x 5 for 17 rounds and burpees x 15 equals 100 burpees in 13:05 - average HR = 157 bpm (87 percent) maximum HR = 167 bpm (93 percent) total 149 calories. Notes: first 10 rounds averaged 0:35 per round and then I went by desire resulting in longer round times. My last round of 15 burpees took 1:50 to complete. A City worker was mowing the park lawn so I had some noise and dust in my area but can't blame today's slower performance on it.
#2 = HRR analysis - start of workout 103 bpm - end of workout 167 bpm - 1:00 = 154 bpm (13 bpm lower) - 2:00 = 142 bpm (25 bpm lower) - 3:00 = 130 bpm (37 bpm lower).

An impressive cardio session with the burpees. Wow, 145 burpees! It was a pleasant workout and the weather was nice. The longer time interval is a breath of fresh air. Planed on going longer but reminded myself that I’d like to do a long run on Sunday. Have done 60 minutes before EMOM x 5 for 300 burpees, that’s a lot.

Pierini Fitness training 3/2/2020 Morning BW - 168.1 lbs. Workout -
#1 = Office – GTG alternating pull-ups and chin-ups x 10 unless otherwise indicated - #1 at 6:46 am - #2 at 7:17 am - #3 at 7:41 am - #4 at 8:15 am - #5 at 8:55 am - #6 at 9:46 am - #7 at 10:32 am - #8 at 11:04 am - #9 at 11:28 am - #10 at 11:46 am - total of 100 reps in the morning. Note: Started day planning on 200 reps but after lunch, I got extra busier with work and the time got away from me and by then, I lost interest. One of these busy work days.
#2 = 28th & C Street Park 3:47 pm wind 23 mph NNW - burpees x 5 every 0:35 for 15 rounds equals 65 burpees in 7:28 - average HR = 152 bpm (84 percent) maximum HR = 161 bpm (89 percent) total 79 calories. Note: Winds were bittersweet, great for sucking in fresh air but a nuisance for doing burpees, mind wasn't strong enough today to go to 100 burpees, next time.
Sunday 3/1/2020 was a needed rest day. I set a new record for being sedentary and rested well. My morning BW was 169.0 lbs.

I was thinking about Your office dilemma. Could You do swings? You could do something like EMOM. Would that be a problem? Michael, I've tapered KB and step training in my office after the law firm on the first floor complained to the property manager about my thumping. I promised I wouldn't do it anymore. Look forward to going to the park though and getting some fresh air but it didn't happen today - very busy. Pierini Fitness training 3/5/2020Morning BW = 170.7 lbs. Workout - Office - GTG alternating pull-ups and chin-ups x 11 unless otherwise indicated - #1 at 6:31 am - #2 at 7:02 am - #3 at 7:36 am - #4 at 8:00 am - #5 at 8:38 am - #6 at 9:02 am - #7 at 12:13 pm - #8 at 12:45 pm - #9 at 2:40 pm - #10 at 3:17 pm - #11 at 4:16 pm - #12 at 4:54 pm equal 12 rounds and 132 reps while stuck in my office working hard all day and fasted - too busy to eat. Will eat BBQ baby back ribs for dinner tonight.
