Good work old son, did you try a max set? Yes I did and managed 12 pull-ups with a full extension hang at the bottom of each pull-up. Prior to doing The Fighter Pull-up Program during November, I was coming off a pull-ups sabbatical and was rusty. I never did a single set max reps effort at the start of the program but doing them the way I did them for the test, I'm guessing I would have banged out maybe 8. So the program was good to get me back on the saddle. Regardless, I'm still off from my lifetime best but I'm satisfied being the older turd fitness guy I am. Thanks for asking.

Well 12 reps at your age is fantastic, and no I am not being funny, I am being genuine for a rare moment. Jabroni.

I'm probably a one-man band with my post and that's OK. This is what I did today while under the weather with a common cold.
Burpees x 10 every 1:30 x 8 rounds and then burpees x 20 sprint to finish for a total of 100 burpees in 13:24. That's all I did which was more than I thought. I had honestly thought I was going to be a no show.

This might surprise you but I've been experimenting with some of that light dumbbell stuff that Whiffet used to go on about. This is the light dumbbell stuff where you tense the target muscle at the same time like the David Bolton and Sandow stuff rather than the Al Treloar super high rep light dumbbell stuff which I also tried but it was exhausting me. I've been at it a few weeks. I don't have a proper routine as I'm still gradually figuring out how the fuck you do this stuff and also still trying out different exercises to figure out the best exercises that also don't annoy my dodgy shoulder. I do the dumbbell stuff first followed by things like calf raises, ab stuff, glute bridges, full range free hand squats.

I like to do very slow squats for reps (not the Asian/sit-on-ankles-to-visit-with-neighbors squat) in the way that the Capt has mentioned, the Steve Maxwell Amosov Squat. Choices of support for the hand placed assistance is only limited by imagination. Holding on to something, whether as an assist or just to keep steady, helps me to make the slow squats feel good and makes it easy to pause/move in certain ROM positions if I like.

I tried the light dumbell thing about 8 years ago and it also exhausted me as it called for everyday workouts of the same bodypart. I should have tried to tweak it to fit me, but gave it up.
Mr. Potatohead, akin to Maxwells lean back squat, I have used a basketball sized ball (a cheapo from Walmart) placed about the area of my tailbone with my back facing the wall behind me and the ball sandwich in between. It's like a hack squat, can move feet out or back as far as feels good. Helped my knees at the time I needed it. Did them non-lockout (continuous tension) and contracting the whole time.

Maxalding 1st thing in the morning. Star jumps for 3 minute rounds done throughout the day. Sounds hard. Are you able to go the entire 3 minutes without a pause?

Maxalding 1st thing in the morning. Star jumps for 3 minute rounds .............. done throughout the day. About how many star jumps do you fit into a 3 minute session? What would you say is the number of 3 minute rounds on an average day? If you don't mind, and you don't need to be specific, how old are you?

It depends on your tempo and how u flail your arms. I do the full 3 minutes with 45s rest intervals. Training blocks are 3 rounds per session. My daily total is 30 to 60 minutes maximum.

I gauge by tempo which goes at about a 2s clip if I do star jumps. Sometimes, I'll do elevated mountain climbers too on a bed or couch. My totals are from 30 minutes minimum to 60 minutes maximum. My daily average currently runs 40 minutes. I'm 60.
