Your first and third links are just before Trump came into power, the middle one is during his term. Trump had plenty of opportunities to clean things up but he didn't do very well, did he ? You know, continuously sacking competent people whose service has spanned many presidencies, not listening to advice because Trump didn't "trust science" but worked via his own instincts (probably the reason for six company bankruptcies) then hired utterly incompetents like that cunning arsehole Atlas, finally tearing into his ex-advisers on Twitter. And we also know that when you want to "drain the swamp" with the govt departments, you start at the top, so not listening to your closest advisers ensures that said govt depts run by idiot bean-counters and Moongazers stay much the same. For all my criticisms of the Traitors in NZ, the govt here didn't muck around. They privatized many govt depts and set them up for sale by the next govt to be elected. Of course, it went too far the other way. But you saw resolute action that didn't overtly pander to Big Money, although as usual that was the underlying motive. At the last, the American "system" is corrupt, driven by money as the only motive (ultimately), over-complicated to the point of obfuscation of the Law, and hedged by a myriad of inefficient (as they always end up being) government departments, that serve to provide excuses for any Prez for why something has gone dreadfully wrong. Said govt depts becoming mini-kingdoms run by politically motivated bosses who make departmental decisions based on hopeful political personal gain, not practical and ethical dept considerations. Happens here too. McConnell is a classic example of Big Money changing key politicians' stances on serious issues, therefore affecting their votes whose consequences end up filtering down to The People, the ones that built America.

Yeah, right, that would work a trick, wouldn't it? Yes it is laughable, imagining for one moment that any Prez, (Trump included) could change the system for the better.

It's now become glaringly apparent that Macky is just in this to play Devil's Advocate...ok, I'll play along too... Trump fought against the EPA right from the start, and it's simply amazing what the man accomplished due to the fact that he was under constant attack from the lunatics on the left (and some on the right) from day one... epafacts.com/top-4-ways-the-epa-wastes-taxpayer-money/***I'm in the HVAC & Refrigeration business, and I've seen firsthand how utterly incompetent and STUPID the EPA is with all of the overcomplicated and nonsensical refrigerant rules that are impossible to follow and remain profitable... The EPA made such a mess out of the industry that they singlehandedly created a new 'sub-class' of (dirty) contractors who are basically impossible to compete against because they blatantly disregard all of the rules with seemingly no repercussion. The EPA is a JOKE...

"I'm from the government and I'm here to help" is a sure way to end a conversation.

The EPA is a JOKE... I'm not arguing with any of that. I've agreed that govt depts are full of crackpots who probably couldn't hold a job down outside their dept if they tried. We've had plenty of that sort of thing here over the years. I've seen it in my own job when our govt dept was privatized into a state corporate and then sold off under the next govt and became private enterprise. That's why I have a bit of an idea about these things. I've been there, seen that for decades. NZ has much the same situation just not as complicated, mainly because of the smaller country, which incidently makes a lot of said crackpottery more visible to the People. And provides similar prompts from other countries with much larger populations. You have to remember that much of what posters may debate/argue about here is more in their neighbourhood than others like me, because it's of immediate concern to such people. Their job is at stake sometimes, and they haven't got the luxury of projecting themselves "outside" to look back into a wider picture. Their concerns are more "local" and the wider picture just hasn't got the time to be contemplated. That's not a criticism at all. I'm sure there are others outside NZ who have a wider idea of what's happening here, dick-head govt initiatives etc that effectively disenfranchise skilled workers and qualified tradesmen. And small and medium business. At the last, it's the eternal conflict between Big Money interests, and People's governments that they voted for. But The People everywhere have been conned into a system of "democracy" (which is still better than autocracy) but who in fact cannot vote for the real power-brokers that hide behind the elected govt, and who have now influenced and largely control said govt. As I said, McConnell is a classic example of a prominent politician who quietened down from being a China hawk when he and his Chinese-American wife received around 12 million from Daddy, a close friend of the previous Chinese premier. McConnell's dealing re a Russian BM under investigation by the FBI had McConnell subject to all sorts of derision in his home state. In other words, a top govt official being virtually bribed to change his position on important matters that influence The People. And that is US govt influence from outside the United States. So in a sense, McConnell is one of your traitors. Big Money bought him.

However, I'm not sure I will even vote anymore as I feel the system is too corrupt - why waste my time as a 'little guy' when they will do all the backward illogical crap with MY tax money they want anyway.
