I think denis had a fair summary of Trump in his long paragraph. As always, there are some good things that "Trump did" (as though he did them all by himself) but I can't see much in denis' summary that isn't true. Much of the summary is precisely the reasons why Trump was ousted by the PTB, whether you believe in the "stolen election" or not. And you can call "liberal" or "right wing" all you like. It's obvious many of the members here are fixed in their partisanship, with finger-pointing and slurs flying around. It's embedded in their minds. And I'm not saying that some of the things they maintain are not right. But arguing at that level is falling into the Powers-That-Be's hands while they ruin what is left of our societies. Just like the PTB want it to be. The unravelling of America. Like I said, expect a "financial crisis" anytime soon, or next year whatever. The "liberal left" is only yet another diversion to focus on while the PTB carry on with business as usual. I no longer use the word "liberal" when discussing governments and politics. It is, as the dictionary states, "polysemous", having multiple meanings. I also prefer not to label myself, but before some of the other meanings became popular by MSM broadcast, I thought of myself as being liberal, although I never called myself by that label. I may refer to those on the "left" as socialists, communists, Marxists, PTB, Globalists, elitist or similar, but I don't label them "liberal" in order to avoid possible confusion as it confused me the first time I heard it since I understood its meaning in this way:
So, to avoid confusion for others, I don't use the word "liberal" anymore, but you do you.

I look at things this way now that I am in my mid-50's and I've paid my dues and taxes. The government should be looking for my best interests. That is what I vote for, which means keep gas/energy prices low, reduce my taxes all-around and make life pleasant and carefree while I do my end of working and making money to pay taxes on.
For me, the Trump years were great. Gas prices were down, Other taxes were down. Illegals entering the U.S. were down. NO WARS to get into! Jobs were plentiful, maybe not the best ones but they were there for those that wanted to work. America was more independent from foreign made/produced goods than it had been for a while. America was seemingly stronger as a country compared to the eight Oblama years when folks were confused on which bathroom to use.
NOW, with Biden/Harris, all of the above is gone! Prices up, taxes up, all the $ going to stupid programs for the useless and this is just 100 days in - wait for 2 years and see.
If you went to college and don't have a job too bad. You should have thought about what you were going to do upon graduation the day you first set foot on campus. And, saying you cannot take a job because you are too good for it or won't get paid $100k is no excuse. If you are so above those jobs and can't get a company to pay you that much then start your OWN company and show those folks what they missed out on.
BLM is as much of a hate symbol as WLM would be with a picture of a fist. Racism is defined as antagonism directed against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group. If blacks target violent acts toward white old ladies or Asians then it's racist plain and simple.
As far as I see, it's not even liberal (willing to respect or accept behavior or opinions different from one's own) anymore. Things are being pushed down citizens throats like socialism (system where the state owns the means of production and believe everything in society is made by the cooperative efforts of the people and citizens) and communism (advocates a classless society in which all property and wealth are communally-owned, instead of by individuals) combined.
In 1988, rap group NWA came out with 'Fuk Da Police'. Other even more disturbing material is put out by A$AP Rocky and the other A$AP folks. Seeing the lyrics and knowing that they propagate hate within the minority youth since then into what we have now (the horrible violent crimes), and knowing it has been allowed to happen without the censorship that has been done to other artists is just as disturbing.
The guv is coming for all the $ they can get their hands on......Wait until they cancel social security!

Amen brothersteve.
However, I don't see them canceling Social Security because that's political suicide. They will tinker with it. Such as continuing to increase the wage base subject to Social Security payroll tax withholding, increasing full-retirement age, possibly phasing out maximum benefits using a means-based approach like they currently do for determining Medicare premiums.
I just became full retirement benefits age this past April although my current plan is to wait until age 70 to begin collecting because that amount will be 32 percent higher. But, like others my age, I continue to monitor the situation and could change my mind.

I took my SS as soon as I became eligible because who knows what waits down the road.....SS is something that really needs to be fortified and protected. The goddamn politicians should NOT be able to fuck with it like they have ! Remember the Mariel boat people from Cuba back during the Carter administration ? The government went into the SS fund to pay for these people. I'm sure this is not the only occasion where they did this Enough is enough with all this stuff....another thing, why can't we designate a beneficiary for our SS ? We paid into it for decades and have no control over that money. if we die the day after getting our first check, the government keeps all our money we paid into it....and had no choice in the matter of paying into it or not Especially for unmarried people, they die and what happens to all the money they never had the chance to collect ? This is just plain wrong and any elected official who comes out to protect and change SS to make it safer and better has my vote This federal government is out of control....they do whatever they want, openly break the laws and thumb their noses at the American taxpayer When the Hell are the American people going to open their eyes and put a stop to this ? Out forefathers and mothers were smart people who knew what power does and that's why they created the Constitution and bill of rights....we need to hold our elected officials feet to the fire ( maybe literally ) and fight back at every opportunity before this country descends into third world status As far as I'm concerned the people who protested at the capitol back in January are HEROES, not lawbreakers. They should have dragged all those corrupt politicians outside and tarred and feathered them, like our forefathers and mothers did ! As I said previously...they are turning our boys into girls, allowing degenerate deviates to force their beliefs upon us, allowing dangerous criminals to riot, loot, burn and murder, and releasing dangerous criminals from the prisons to prey upon the population Openly promoting anti-white racism in our workplaces, schools and even our military....this woke, cancel culture, diversity, inclusion, white privilege, heterosexual privilege and the other bullshit they are forcing on us is intolerable. And are doing everything in their power to disarm us Our guns are the only thing that prevents them from completely taking over I hope that the resident and his whore are in someone's sights.....never thought I'd feel this way but they have declared war on the middle class taxpayer and white Americans. And I don't give a fuck who thinks I'm wrong or disagrees...... that bumbling idiot is clueless and the whore openly laughs when asked about the crisis at our Southern border Anyone who can't see what is going on in this country is either blind or a fool

Maybe this video will give those 'on the outside looking in' a better perspective on how real hard working blue collar American's think... I've no doubt that many hard working blue collar Americans think that Trump is the tops. And they are entitled to. Like I've said, Trump did some good things, like any Prez. But instead of reflections on what other people (particularly supporters) think of Trump, and other comments that focus on the commentators instead of the substance, let's go through what denis posted and try and find anything in it that's actually wrong. Then there's the small matter of Trump's close association with a convicted and jailed pedophile back in 2008, and which surfaced again with fresh charges in 2019. Obviously back in 2008, Epstein avoided going to jail for life because of America's complicated laws which allow plea bargaining. And I would suspect that Epstein's friendship with many in the upper echelons (such as Prince Andrew) ensured that his sentence was vastly watered down. Epstein was convicted on two counts. The prosecutors identified at least 36 girls, many of them underage, who were involved. Trouble is, Trump in those days was "just" a businessman and beauty pageant owner with a long record for walking in on the dressing room with the girls in various stages of undress, but in 2019, the reputation of the American presidency itself was at stake, and Epstein by then was "getting on" a bit, and may have decided it was time to start naming names. No surprises he was found unresponsive and died later in hospital, forever silenced. Now his longtime cohort Maxine is in for the same sort of thing, and Trump "wishes her well". The "Jane Doe" lawsuit around 2016 against Epstein and Trump doesn't make for good news either, despite being dropped abruptly. I would suspect once again that there may have been a "hundred thousand reasons" for that, but in any case, it's probably the continued threats as detailed in the lawsuit notes that finally had its effect on the complainants. The PTB needed Trump to carry on with his divisionary ways, but when he started to make policies that went directly against American CIA/corporate global "initiative" for the last 70+ years, it was too much, and Trump had to go. Trump cemented their resolve when he helped to initiate a "coup" directly against the United States, many arrested and charged since clearly stating that Trump was their impetus, that they were "sent" by Trump. Whether the election was rigged or not is irrelevant. America has a long history of election-cooking, and an even longer record of interfering in other countries' elections world-wide. Why most here seem upset about American history and Trump's (not only Trump, of course) part in it is an indication of how divided the PTB have managed to keep the American citizens occupied with all sorts of important issues on a certain level, while continuing to gut the American economy in their generations-long quest for supremacy, power, and wealth. My opinion on the PTB is that they are Globalists primarily, using (as they did in WW2 for example) America as their base but having very little patriotism except when it's necessary to make a show.

Curious, what did Obama do that was "good" in your opinion, and what has Biden done so far that was "good" ?... If you'd like I can invite a few small business owner friends of mine onto this forum who can tell you their own personal horror stories pertaining to 'Obama Care' and how that lying weasel POS Obama caused huge amounts of grief for them, their families, AND their employees when they could no longer afford medical care thanks to the lying weasel 'traitor in chief' ?... And then the absolute GALL on the son-of-a-whore when Obama came out with his unconstitutional 'individual mandate' which penalized these hard working American tax payers who could no longer afford his overpriced shit medical insurance. Imagine having to pay a hefty fine because you can no longer afford medical insurance, yet these democrat scum freely gave out medical insurance on the tax payers dime to any and all illegals who would then clog up hospital emergency rooms with their baby carriages, illegal aliens who never payed a dime into the 'system' but now use public hospitals as a 'free' healthcare clinic.

No worries. But please don't blame one guy and his entourage for trying to get to grips with what you yourself have just said "has been building for decades". Prezzies have come and gone, and they haven't been able to make much difference, not even Trumpy. It's the Powers That Be, a loose group that often fight among themselves, jostling for power not only in America, but globally. A loose group who mainly consist of corporate power, influencing ANY govt including Donald's, and raking in Authority such as the heads of the CIA and FBI, people in the background like Kissinger, a German Jew who got out of Germany in time, but acts like a Nazi and has the same attitude, the odd politician that knows what's really going on like that weasel McConnell, and a few others in Authority such as the Fed Res governors, heads of major banks. They are the ones that are outside of any democratic People's vote, and whose terms exceed any presidential term, or even double term. Corporate Power has been around for most of the 20th century. It is easily the most influential among the bulk of them, and existed well before WW2. Major General Smedley Butler, the author of War Is A Racket, warned Roosevelt that the corporates were out to get him. "oust Roosevelt and install a dictator. Retired Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler asserted that wealthy businessmen were plotting to create a fascist veterans' organization with Butler as its leader and use it in a coup d'état to overthrow Roosevelt." In other words, a dictatorship like Germany, since America has a long history of eugenics, and business leaders like Henry Ford were active blaming Jews (Ford in his Dearborn Independent newspaper) for WW1 and everything monetarily wrong in the world. The Nazi/Fascist influence in American 20th century is notable in some areas, Ford receiving a version of the German Eagle, said version the highest award of a non-German citizen possible, from Hitler in around 1938, the year Hitler was posted as Man Of The Year by Time magazine. So corporate and banker power has always served to dictate internal and foreign policy via security agencies and then through the CIA (1947 onwards) and of course, the military, the 20th century posting only six years when America was NOT involved in armed conflict somewhere in the world. Today, technology has enhanced the PTB's powers and promoted global trade like never before, the Internet a revolutionary instrument that enables huge amounts of money to circle the Globe every day via markets such as the giant Forex. Super-businessmen who once were millionaires have now become billionaires, with 200 of them in the US alone. They wield great power and their large donations to entities like the CDC influence the decisions and announcements that people like Fauci make. In amongst it all are the presidents and govts that are virtually owned by Big Money, and said Big Money/PTB routinely incite Division and strife among the People they oversee. That's why blaming Trump or Biden is missing the goal by a mile. They are only figureheads, and their power is nothing like that of top business chiefs who have been running what effectively is an increasing financial fiefdom for the last 120 years at least. At the moment, America is being set up for something the nature of what I'm not quite sure. It seems that anything possible except outright civil war is being used to socially disrupt American society. Mikey's pointed out the "Covid emergency" as a hoax. Bruv's stats say quite the opposite than what the MSM are putting out to The People. The poofs are celebrating their 34 different sexes. Reps and Dems have never seemed to be as divided as now. Attempts to unify them in important decisions seem to fall flat with the internal squabbling. And bearing in mind that everything comes from the Top in any society, not the bottom, except the base wealth buildup which the PTB exploits on the back of the ordinary citizen's labour, it could be that a change in the USA's world influence is afoot. Or the PTB are fighting a pending financial meltdown due to top-heavy corporate wealth and total American debt, who knows ?

I acknowledge your sincerity Mags and absolutely agree with the sort of things you are talking about. Much of what you say here about (at least) immigrants who have never contributed a cent to the economy clogging up the A & E clinics because they don't want to pay a doctor have long been noted here after the Traitors came into govt in 1984. And you don't have to bring your small business owner friends along, because I already sympathize with them, having had a small business of my own rendered passe' by a treacherous govt removing import restrictions and ruining what was a flea market enterprise that brought in a moderate income and paid tax to the economy, by so many. In the 80's here in NZ, the cry became "the market shall decide" and import restrictions were removed, directly subjecting the NZ workforce in manufacturing and retail to hundreds of millions of dollar-a-day labour in the Far East, and a deluge of cheap goods which effectively lost the jobs of thousands here and the disappearance of many industries like clothing and shoes from the NZ scene. In addition, it became a criminal offence to price-fix with any other company big or small (in order for both to survive) and instead of both national (federal govt) and local govt (councils etc) regulating small business and at least geographically spreading them out so they can all have a fair go, they left market forces to dictate the play. Now for example, whereas before we had about three or four men's barbers for the whole of Manurewa (pop. 88,000) we've got a dozen in the main street alone, and many more scattered around the sub-suburbs. Many start up and then close down because they can't pay the rent or other problems, the mall here has small retail businesses starting up and going for a while, then closing as they can't make enough of a dollar because next-door starts selling what they are selling, as well. My barber only survives because he has a loyal customer base that keeps him going, but they are made up mainly of older guys like myself who really only go there and pay three times as much as another barber shop 60 ft away, because of our loyalty, and because we want to have a cracking laugh session amongst original Kiwis who understand the jokes. The whole shop is in an uproar sometimes when some old geezer starts up from the chair while he's getting his eye-brows and ears trimmed. The point is, that "market forces" as the "regulator" simply don't work, because often same-businesses find themselves in a price-war, from which nobody wins. And if a business DOES become successful through diligent and hard work, their paperwork is tremendous and often requires another paid person to do it for them. And then out of the blue a larger company will offer them a "good price" to buy the business, and if they don't accept, another business starts up across the road that effectively undercuts the original business until it goes to the wall. Later the original business owner finds out the new business that undercut him was set up by the large business that offered to buy his, and the "new business" shuts down shortly after having done its purpose. That was a strategy of IBM in its early days. At the last, small businesses survive because they have some unique feature that is not worth a big business to pursue, such as the neighbourhood diary-grocery, which survives because the locals find it much easier to grab a newspaper and some chocolate or smokes on Sunday, or on the way home from work, instead of trying to find a park at a supermarket and joining a long line of once-a-week shoppers with their loaded up shopping trolleys. Or a service company which again relies on a loyal customer base for its main income. But still, the govt doesn't regulate when it should, and then Rampant Capitalism takes over as the councillors receive back-pocket money to allow a large corporate to build on a site which was designated parkland, or some such, prior to the kickback. We've got a health center here built right over a sewer inspection plate simply because the builder "garnished the tea-fund". Said builder is a large company which pretty much does what it wants in the two suburbs it "controls". Other companies become so large that they begin to seriously influence the community they are located in, and when they close down due to "centralization" or simply because they've outsourced their manufacturing plant to China, the whole town can become a ghost town. Once again, due to market forces alone being the all-and-end-all of a govt that doesn't govern to protect workers, AND small business owners that depend on the disposable income from the workers' salaries (such as service industries or eateries) a near-whole community disappears and unless someone steps in with a new industry, that's it. Another way a small-medium business can render workers/technicians being made redundant is when large corporates like Telecom NZ start only contracting out to other large companies, and will not contract to the small businesses that kept it going while other companies were being bought by (say) an international corporate until the day when it was big enough in NZ to contract directly with Telecom who then only had one company to deal with, and then made several more of its own staff redundant because Telecom now longer needed them. Other companies like Farmers here, decades old, only contract out, it's store counters having different contracting companies within the premises depending on what they are selling. Customers that have a Farmers card once could book up a mower (for example) and pay it off over a year with the deposit virtually being the interest on the book-up, and twelve equal payments, the deposit a tidy but reasonable 10%. Now the card is virtually a credit card, and every month one has to pay 3% of the debt. So someone who has a thousand booked up pays $30 dollars, 18 of which is interest and only 12 which comes off the total debt. It's "license to print money" and that's exactly what the banks do with their credit cards. I paid all mine off and cut them up long ago. In so many ways, the wage earner and the small business owner are the "disposable labour" that the Big Business doesn't give a damn about, and both local and national govt don't do a sausage to change all that, whether they are Dem or Rep. Sure there might be some changes "under Obama" or "under Trump" but it's really the Big Boys i.e. the PTB that pull the strings, and they keep on pulling them while the People are at ground level embroiled in arguing and finger-pointing. As always.
