Of course, weight is only a part of one's health and is arguably a relatively small health determinant .

I believe that a hard daily workout and moderation in eating are enough to be in good shape. In my 67, I am not a slim guy, and have ~1” fat on my belly in the siting position (pinch test). But I think it is OK for my height and weight that are 6' 2” and 215 lbs, respectively. Oh, I'm sorry. Didn't I tell you that anyone over 5'9" is not allowed on this forum? Friends, say goodbye to Seeker. I forgot to say it is easy to be less than 5'9" on this forum, all you have to do is sit down while you are on here!

Don't forget a chair is the seat of all evil and causes lard-assism . Ergo stand tall while using your Google machines .

Actually, Seeker, 215 lbs. is a good weight for your height, 6'2". I hear guys your height saying they want to be 175, or somewhere in there. Too skinny. When Steve Reeves won the Mr. Universe contest, he was 215 lbs. at 6'1". In that pic up there I am 67, 5'9", 199 lbs. I had my wife take that pic the day I dropped under 200 lbs. I wanted to document that momentous occasion. As this may be my last post, since I'm around 6'3", my target is around 180 - 190lbs. I want to get my bodyfat levels down as part of the quest...as I learn things like IGF-1 levels, which are driven by dietary factors such as protein, affect cancer (in men, primarily prostate) and elevated insulin indicates a correlation between not only pre-diabetes but heart disease and various forms of cancer, the lower the body mass, the better the chances of health and longevity. Emphasis on vegetables and fruits, smaller portions of animal proteins, Intermittent Fasting, etc. Carrying 215lbs, unless you've got a low level of bodyfat, is probably not a good weight. As good old uncle Mal once noted, the big dogs don't live as long as the little dogs...same with humans...the longest lived humans carry a lower body mass.

Bruce Congratulations on your weight lost! Small changes can make a big difference. I don't count calories either. I do agree with Texasranger about concentrating on fruits and vegetables. But in the same vein you want some taste.
