"Dancing is kin to this type of exercise."
Good point. The article under the link above called "FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH" goes into this.

“If I’ve learned anything as a cardiologist, it’s that whenever you improve the health of your heart, you improve the health of your entire body. I might be treating a patient’s heart problem and all of a sudden other health dilemmas like arthritis, memory disturbances, gum disease and even cancer would seem to improve. This should not be a mystery. The heart is, after all, the core of our being.”—Sinatra Even though he is regarded as one of the most popular entertainers of the mid-20th century and is among the world's best-selling music artists with an estimated 150 million record sales I wouldn't be taking health advice from him, m8.

He did those before he went deep water treading in the ocean So he filmed himself in speedos. That's ok, but it is unfortunate that he made the video public.

.......... I did it shortly before going to sleep last night, no problem. There you go. TGM is paying more attention to what he's doing than I pay to mine.

I've had some interactions with Macky here and on another forum. He did mention the swinging arm exercise to me when we were talking about Mike Joplin and his cancer. I would like to add this to what I do but don't want to give up stuff I like exercise wise. Macky wrote a lot of stuff that I really don't have time to read. So maybe Mr.P or Fred could answer a couple of questions for me. With something like this I don't think I would be interested in counting reps. Is there a certain amount of time that is recommended? Is this something that should be done everyday? If I don't do my regular exercise in the morning I will probably miss it I may not feel like doing it. Is the swinging arms something that could be done after dinner? Will it cause problems with sleeping? I hope Fred will add his insight on this.

As I write this with a tear, it's times like this that I miss macky.

I've done an evaluation and the optimum BPM (beats per minute) of a song to swing to for me is 100 BPM.
The Neil Young song, 'Comes A Time', is 158bpm, so it's kind of a 1.5er ... the swing beat sort of repeats at the full rep of swing to one side and back. I like it though due to the words.
Any song or music that beats to 100 bpm will work for me to rock out into oblivion.
The swing for this is what I call the 'skater' type swing, knees unlocked to horse stance, back/head upright more-or-less, with rope loop (hands about 1 cubit apart) to gently pull cross arm. I do seem to sway side-to-side when I do this and it feels good to do that.
IMO, Dr Len Schwartz just did what felt good to him, to use his body in rhythmic ways. Others tried it and discovered he was on to something. IMO, he certainly was. Pete Wagner is the same ilk, but I'm not sure he realizes that what he's preaching is NOT new.

I've been to a lot of live music in my younger days. Mostly blues/rock/alt/country/bluegrass - music that is motivating. It has puzzled me that people can sit on their butts for 2 or 3 hours with occasional restroom breaks, but basically just sit there while a band is rocking the venue. What a wasted opportunity for some vigorous exercise, m8s!

I thought of that too, Len Schwartz' Heavyhands. Anyway, I'm still doing "ping shuai gong", ten minutes or a little more each time. I think I prefer it without weights. I get into it and could even do it longer, but I'm not sure how much good it's doing.

Rolled up dish towels held in yr fist are complimentary to the movements.
