I picked up a cheap, Taiwan-made/Gold's Gym rip-off of the Sierra strap at Walmart several years ago. Not even close to the quality of the Sierra strap. The one Steve is using in that photo looks reasonably well built, although I can't see how long it is from the picture, but viewing it on the German Flexvit site, I'd guess it to be about half the length of the Sierra strap? (Steve may have been given this one for free, If he paid for it, he would have had a better deal with Sierra, IMO) It appears to be about the same price as the Sierra Suspension/Iso Strap - but then shipping would need to be added. Even so, I prefer to patronize small/cottage businesses rather than large corporations and Bruce's customer service is fast, pleasant and impeccable.

It looks like that isn't actually an isometric device but instead is a fancy woven material meant to be stretchy like a resistance band.

It stretches? !!!! He mentions using it for stretching his body after doing isos, but compares it to the ForeArm Forklift. Does the FAFL stretch too? I'm confused now.

There are many flexvit bands with different resistances AND they stretch. If it stretches, even just a bit, in the long run it will fail. There is one which (so the company says) WON'T stretch but I have not found its resistance in pounds, so I don't see it as useful as sierra strap.
The stretch factor is something I have been thinking about for some time and it would be great if a spring could be added to my system. But, where do you hook it? A surface is necessary and also various springs for different exercises. On the other hand, sierra strap+bar and nothing else is needed.
Has anyone toyed with this idea?

The 3" wide Forearm Forklift is comfortable when anchored around your body( e.g. Isometric squats ) . Hence it's a good complement to the Sierra Strap . Too bad it's not longer and has many more loops.

Hmph! I notice the loops on Steve Maxwell's thingy aren't numbered. And what's more, they aren't loops. I actually create loops when I sew my miraculous Sierra Isometric/Suspension Trainer - 30 of 'em.

From its appearance and my familiarity with differences in door jamb gaps, I'd say it's a worthless piece of crap that will be very disappointing and possibly a surprise hazard when it pulls out of the crack. Not even reasonably comparable to the Sierra pro-grade equipment.

Believe it or not but I never got around to buying the Sierra isometric strap. I have always made do with thick cotton cord, parachute cord or webbing cargo straps. I really regret not buying the Sierra strap when I had the chance though as I find fiddling about adjusting cargo straps or having several different lengths of cords a bit annoying. I've been on the lookout for something similar to the Sierra strap but all I've seen appear to be stretchy.

The postage to Australia for the straps is almost as much as the straps! Mind you, the description gave me better clues for how to search on Amazon and ebay Australia for non stretchy straps so now I've found some nylon straps at a good price that look like they will do the job.
I would probably just use my Hook handles and I can buy carabiners locally.

I also didn't think I needed one until it was too late, but I guess you can get the same benefits with a length of chain and some webbing handles.
