I found a press worker in a thrift store about a month ago for only $3 U.S. The one I have is light blue and may be a beginner item as the resistance compressing it on the scale max's to only 38 lbs. I love it for isotonic reps! It's 37 inches long and probably less than a pound as it's all plastic, which make it flimsy, but if taken care of and not abused will last. I don't know if you have ever worked with one, but there is no spring, the resistance is in the straps which are plastic rods that bend but don't break as they push back at the handles. The resistance feels uniform throughout the movement and it has 12 inches of range both of which I like a lot. The only downfall is the straps are solid, you cannot pull on them to compress. I found that by using elastic bands tied to the middle of the straps, they provide a light resistance which equates to a greater resistance to the handles due to the design and have gotten 44 lbs of resistance. Too much elastic resistance makes it impossible to budge due to the ergonomics, so I need to experiment for just the right fit I want.

I've not tried a Power Worker but have read about the resistance. They've been sold under a couple of different names in the UK. They certainly don't offer the 110lbs resistance The Bioneer says is claimed on the device. I would probably buy one if I saw it cheap enough though.

This lady wrote a nice nostalgic piece about the Bullworker. I like how she writes and she even has the famous Atlas ad in there. Unfortunately her results were not stellar, but she acknowledges at the end that it must work for people because it has been around for many decades.
Did the Bullworker really work?
We both used it over the summer without any extreme results. I had hoped it would strengthen my pectoral muscles and increase my 32 A breasts. All we got from the hard work was muscular arms but overall, we both looked pretty much the same.
Alan you may enjoy this part more than most

Cool story! The '"muscular arms" sound like it worked, to an extent. IMO, depends on what you want and to get results you have to get the 'feel' for the exercise movement or practice like iso's. It's not as easy as it sounds, or like robotically moving from point A to point B. This is why it's important to see others who have results do the exercises, most times. I learned so much from seeing pro wrestlers and bodybuilders workout. I believe iso's make you stronger, but not much, if at all, bigger. as they are typically prescribed to be done. The frog board experiment indicates otherwise. In my life, I only knew 2 guys who used it; one used an Super X5 and the other used a Macho Power. The kid who used the Super X5 got noticeably (an inch or more to the arms and about 3 or more to chest) bigger and stronger. The kid who used the Macho Power was already kind of husky for the times and had played hockey, but I did not know him well to really find out much. Another kid who practiced Maxalding who was at best in the 140's lbs could beat anyone in arm wrestling.

Iso-motion seems to work best over complete static holds or static holds in a stretched ROM followed by flexing in the contracted position. At least thats been my experience to effect hypertrophy.

From my limited experience of using a bullworker-like device called the retrociser, it's all about feeling your way through different movements I tried following the chart they sent with it and some of it just doesn't feel like I'm doing anything, I struggle to feel any resistance in the deadlift like movement, the push and curl bicep/tricep exercise and the behind the next compress exercise.

The Retrociser only has one spring and it has about the same resistance as the Tensolator, mkII, Deluxe and X5. That spring is not enough resistance for things like deadlifts and is too much for some other exercises. Probably why Bullworker now have 8 different strength springs available now I think I know the biceps and triceps exercises you are talking about. Withe the curl the working hand ends up near the chin? I've never thought much of it. Using the bullworker for concentration curls is better or attaching straps to it so you can stand to do curls. I don't like any tricpes exercises with a bullworker. That behind the head compression is a horrible exercise no matter what spring I've used. I've tried it with the lightest spring in a Panther 28 and and also the lightest (at the time, there's now a lighter one) in a Classic and it just doesn't feel like something I should be doing.

I like to push my two hands together and move them forward and back. Feels like a muscle strengthener and stretch at the same time.

I always come back to the Bullworker. Grab it out of the corner, if yours is like mine, it's probably covered in panties that it mesmerized off the bodies of the countless women who dared gaze upon it. Now, Do the 10 reps, followed by the 10 second hold...is that it you ask? No, I reply. Go right back into the 10 reps, and another 10 second hold....then just keep doing that TO FAILURE. One "set" like that is probably enough daily of 6 or 7 exercises. Basically maximizing time under tension, going for failure, you might get 3 or 4 "sets" in one set. Give it a try, I think it's the new way to go with old Bully.

It's a permanent malfunction, but learning to accommodate for it. I can do counter top "push offs", but I am doing the with palms down instead of up like a normal pushup, seems to work the shoulders more and is less bothersome that way. I tried doing pullups, forget about it, but I can at least do Bullworker "pullups" (compressing on each side alternately as if a one arm pullup), something I couldn't do a month ago. The muscle simply is not there now where it used to be. Between the bodyblade, Bullworker, and this and that, I can still workout pretty good. Working on the punching bag, the right hook is slow, as the muscle that brings the arm that way is the one no longer functional. So I do "some" martial arts stuff from time to time just as a workout, trying to think how I now would alter my approach to self defense, I am incorporating more elbows and straight line palm heels/right crosses. Saw a guy on YouTube who was 2 years into his recovery, so it's a long road and for the fact this has only been a few months, I'm pretty amazed. I do credit that BPC157 supplement for a lot of it.

I thought he gave good explanation of iso's, TUT, and Hookes law for using the BW and for strength and hypertrophy gains.
