This can be done with any looped belt. I use synchronized leg movements to make it panaerobic. This exercise can also be done with a Bullworker. Just need to keep the tension constant while going through the motion and is easily done looking at the red powermeter ring.

I also added back in probably my favourite bullworker exercise that I've not seen in any of the manuals. This is for the lats. The one arm straight arm pullover. This is done standing. Hold one end of the bullworker with your left hand against the top of your right leg. Hold the other end out in front of you at arms length and use that arm to compress the bullworker while keeping the arm straight. Repeat for the other side of the body. The seated two arm version in the manuals is good but I find that also works the chest at the same time which to me seems to take away from the lats. Not a bad exercise if you wanted to work the chest and back at the same time though.

I would HIGHLY advise these people to stop making the same mistakes over and over and SKIP the inferior crap, just put out a 'new' X5, possibly with optional interchangeable springs already and be done with it...

I got my Tensolator out recently and got back into it. I know this device is associated with isometrics, but I think that's largely because that was all the craze when it was developed, and it was marketed to that. But that really limits the effectiveness of it I think. Started doing about six or 7 exercises with it to almost failure, then an iso hold to failure. So most sets are in the 25-40rep range. Really like the "pump" from the high reps. I just think the device had been limited by it's association with the trend of isometrics at the time it was introduced, and if you have always thought of it as an isometric device, or "7 reps and 7 second hold" think again, I don't think that was ever really grounded on much other than some gimmick about getting strong in minutes a day.

Great device. I think it just got mass marketed too heavily in the late 60's to early 70's and many people started associating it with devices like the Shakeweight and the Thighmaster. They also got many sports and entertainment celebrities to hype it that most people knew never used it.

When I was about 12 years old and was looking to buy it, the sales guy at Caldors was a late 20's/early 30's paunchy guy with a mustache telling mom and me about isometrics (which I had already read about) and how he was using the BW (his lack of physique was not a selling point). He opened the box and I took it and pulled on the straps to see my strength and then did 3 slow reps feeling it. He said it was not supposed to be used that way in an admonishing tone that made my mom quickly glance at him. He then said something like when you buy it and it's yours you can do anything you want with it. We didn't buy it, but wish we did because in the end YOU can use any device you bought how you want. Hopefully it will not result in injury.

I can remember them in the window display at our local Woolworths with a big photo of Rocky Graziano hyping it. He was even in a TV commercial for the Bullworker.

My latest method with the Bullworker
3 rounds of this for total of 600 reps: Set 1 100 reps of pulls in various positions in front and sides, everything from "the Archer" to the lateral pulls, no rest til 100th rep Set 2 50 reps each side the "crusher" move or whatever, the one you put the base between you legs and do pulldowns, works lats and upper pec mostly. rest a couple minutes then repeat 2 more rounds
It really doesn't take long. That "crusher" move might be one of the best upper body compound exercises I have ever tried, not many moves work the chest and lats that evenly at the same time. 600 various upper body reps in all directions should be enough to keep things tight.
