Those are very good. Mine are to make it to next year:) I like those. Very practical. What does not get measured, usually does not get improved.

Anyone have SMART fitness goals for 2022? Yes. pretty much what I normally do and maybe lose a little fat off my tummy, not much there but definitely don't want it increasing.
Year of the Tiger February 1st.
Mine would be very similar to yours, but I definitely need to be more consistant with my workouts and remember that being consistant is more important than trying to find the ideal routine.

Well said.

I've recently been adding high intensity intervals to my daily steady state cardio . By continuing to ramp up "sprint reps" in 2022, my goal is to get the hell outta the pre-diabetes zone.

I definitely need to be more consistant with my workouts and remember that being consistant is more important than trying to find the ideal routine. I'm always consistent everyday is my tai chi forms plus weapons, I book the B&GC gym every Tuesday and Thursday 7:30am, advanced 75 min yoga Wednesdays 9am and Thursdays 9:30am, My apartment indoor pool 2pm often during the week and the fitness room 10am on Sundays, always have to get out for a nature trail or parkway walk. Also occasional Attila workout and calisthenics in my pad. Just to clarify, because wheb I reqd my comments back it could read two ways: what I meant was 'I' need to remember to be consistant, I was not meaning you!

I have some easily achievable goals that I think I can achieve.
I'd like to be able to run a mile - pretty easy but something I haven't been able to do in a few years. Keep on fighting my bad diet habits, try and rewire this brain with my many food addictions. Increase my flexibility. Rehab some injuries I have in the joints. I'd like to be happier this year, whilst I've not been badly depressed, I have been extremely negative in my daily life.
More like lifestyle goals rather than fitness but they all tie into one.

Mine really isn’t that fancy, but as I age I value being able to keep doing what I’ve been doing.

Lardy, your sharing “reeks” transparency and rigorous honesty, a breath of forum fresh air. Wishing you the best in your New Year 2022 goals journey. If you’re not journaling your food choices and consumption. I highly recommend it. I use the MyFitnessPal app to guide me and it’s one of the best things I’ve done and do in my fitness, health and wellness journey. I’ll be privately cheering for you. Happy New Year 2022 greetings.

My goals for 2022 are to;
- reduce fat - improve dietary choices and be better balanced nutritionally - maintain full body function while improving strength and endurance (fitness?) - stay as healthy as possible in body and mind

I finally got around to coming up with a short list of my fitness goals for 2022. Normally my list is longer. I like measure-oriented goals to help me have some focus with my training. I think it goes back to school days and the Army when we had fitness tests for PE. Here's my short list for 2022:
(1) Do 100 burpees with a jump in 10:00 or less. I had to take a time out with the jump because of a tender right knee ouchie but now believe I'm ready to go. I'm concentrating my burpees training now doing Navy Seals burpees x 100 workouts and plan on continuing because these bad boys are the real deal, so I'll have to set aside time for working this burpees x 100 in 10:00 or less goal during the year. I have no timeline; it'll happen when and if it happens.
(2) Do a muscle-up on a pull-up bar. I know I have the pull-up and dip strength to do one but need to concentrate on the technique. It's a matter of setting aside time to do this technique work and making attempts. I have several YouTube fitness brothers to coach me when I need some coaching. Again, I have no timeline; it'll happen (or not) when it happens or not.
(3) Get back to 170 lbs. bodyweight by my 67th birthday and maintain it for 2022. I've got 4 lbs. to go so this is on track to be achieved. I think I look better in the 175-180 lbs. range, but my knees prefer a lighter weight. By way of reference, I weighed 161 lbs. during my Army entrance physical (age 17) and 169 lbs. for my Army exit physical (age 20.)
There's other stuff I'd like to check off in 2022 but I'll not reduce them to "published" goals.
Oh, I guess one more, stay prescription medicine free.
That's all folks.

I don't know how SMART my goals are but...
Goal 1 (which should be easy) - get my pullups back from 7 sets of 6 to 7 sets of 8. I haven't been able to do eights since October, when I twinged my shouldert. I didn't do any for two weeks and then I found I could do 5's. My total pullups as part of workouts for the year is 4205. Last year was 6790. The gyms being closed as a consequence of covid really cut into my number.
Goal 2 - up deadlift a bit. I can't lift very much, 60 kgs is it (my knees don't like it). Perhaps I can get it up to 75kgs.

Thanks for sharing. Interesting you share your pull-up count for 2021. I don't have any idea what my count is but I have the data to do the math if I wanted to. It would take some time and I'm not sure I'm up for the math assignment. 6,790 divided by 52 weeks calculates to a weekly average of 131 pull-ups. Again, I don't have a clue what I did but definitely 4-digits.

I've a good bit of weight on so my goal is to lose a lot of it by going to two meeting of 12 step program for people with food problems and keep in contact with people from the group during the week.
Years before when I went to Food Addicts Anonymous. I roughly lost 8 stone in 8 months by giving up addictive foods.
I also go to a personal trainer twice a week for two 45 minutes sessions of weights machines and bodyweight exercise and hit cardio. He's a good trainer and I've been training with him for around 3 years and he prevented me from getting injuries while increasing my strength and fitness.
So far for 5 days, I've been off sugar flout and wheat, so hopefully I haven't put on any weight over Christmas. My Goals are to get weighed at the gym every month, build in little walks when I get the chance, go to two meetings a week and this year really try to nail down the diet like I did before. Hope everybody on this forum achieves their goals and that I lose the weight.
