Does anyone know what the difference is between the BW X5 with black only straps and the one with some red on the straps? I heard 2 things; 1. Red has higher resistance and 2. Red was latest model.
Your answers are much appreciated.

I read on the Facebook Bullworker group that red on the straps means it is the Super X5. These were a little stronger and newer than the X5 with black straps. The original X5 may have had a 95lb spring and the Super a 105lb. I've only had the original X5's but I don't own one now. I should have kept one.
Do you have both?

I just purchased and received an X5 with black straps that says made in England. I like the feel and strength and it has more resistance than my BW 3 brownie and Iso 7X. In looking through images on Google, I saw the red on the straps and wondered what the difference was. Also, saw a post on the BW Facebook site about someone saying it was stronger, but the post seemed more like an inquiry and I did not see feedback. I then saw a list on some site giving the purported resistance levels for a number of BW's, but did not know the red on the straps was called a Super X5. Then, there is the X5 Gold that Magnus talked about, but can't find that for a decent price as the few I have seen are about $100. Have seen the XO Hard and Soft types, but those are about $200 with shipping, etc. from Japan and there are no reviews on these.

I'm only going by what I've read on the bullworker group but there's a few contradictory posts. One chart I saw said that the UK and Gold X5's offer 105lbs of resistance. Steve Hughes (Boss of Bullworker USA) said "When we offered the "Arnold challenge" at the Arnold Classic in 2000, the BW model was an X-5 with about 110 lbs of resistance." One user said that as the difference is only a few pounds on the various older models that it really doesn't make a lot of difference. I think the main thing is how smoothly the device works.

I occasionally see them on eBay in good shape with fair pricing, if you'd like I'll keep an eye out and message you on here when I see one... Btw, I recently saw a 'Made in England' X5 that appeared to be in great shape go for $31 on eBay with approx $10 in shipping. It was right at the end of the auction and I was going to bid on it but figured F'ck it, let someone else get the bargain. I only paid about that for my own 'Made in England' X5 and not that much more for my Japanese X5 Gold, but the 'Gold appeared to have never been used from the pics, and when I got it my thoughts were verified, it looked brand spankin' new

Yes, I saw statements like these as well and decided had to find out for myself and purchase. I was also intrigued by the increased range of motion from the straps. It is very smooth and has a different feel than the BW 3 and 7X. I took it apart as per instructions and pics I found on the internet and cleaned it up - but it was not really dirty to begin with. Thanks again for your info!

Prices seem to be coming down since no more quarantine. I was the one that won that $31 bid....with shipping and tax about $46 total and seems like new. There was a X5 Gold with bag about a month ago on bid starting at $55, plus shipping and tax, and seemed no one bid it....should have got that. It and bag looked like new as well. Before I decided to purchase I checked out videos and the instruction guides/chart. The increased range and resistance is what I wanted. The only issue I have is the straps. When I pull for longest range the sewn parts that overlap hit the rollers on the handle which is where I stop because I don't want to jam them or crack the plastic holding the roller. Since taking it apart to clean, straps are hang drying and I will put together with the sewn parts in the middle to avoid this and see how it goes. Also, when doing isotonic curls, I notice the X5 shift and come off balance with the reps as the rollers are independent of each other. I appreciate the info. Thanks!

I have six Bullies of different sizes and resistance levels. Between them, I have a resistance level for every exercise I do. There's no adjusting anything, I just pick up the particular Bully I use for a particular exercise.
I did have seven, but I sold the X5 Gold.

Normally I wouldn’t pass a deal like that up, I usually buy them and either give them away to friends / relatives who show interest or I resell to co-workers for what I paid. This was the first time I hesitated and let someone else ‘steal’ it at that price 😎

You sold the best Bullworker ever made aside from the Steelbow 28....
