Yeah but You have to remember something, You haven't had the injuries I've had or done physical work like I have for many years. , it would feel a little different. But I'm glad You had good experience with those lifts. How many years did You do those lifts? If I knew how to put pictures from my phone I would show You my home gym. I've had a power rack that has a pull up bar and dip station for many years. My oldest son brought his Olympic weights/ weight tree to my gym a couple of weeks ago. I already had a bar a couple of plates. I never had the urge to touch the barbell with my little bit of plates. But since I was working Saturday I decided after 15 years or so to mess with the barbell squat and bench press. After using the barbell I know what I've figured out years ago, I like DBs and KBs better. They feel more natural to me. Agree and understand Michael, I was only speaking for myself. I know of many of your injuries because you’ve shared them with me. I’m sorry you had to experience them. The stuff you do with your training is amazing considering. Sending respect. I know You were only speaking of Your experience. I hate to see anyone with pain or injuries. I'm glad You were able to have a positive experience with those exercises. Like you said on the other thread ,"I hope as You age You can still do the exercise You enjoy". , I don't think I'd want to see You doing Yoga. But I'll will admit, I'm not prejudice against any exercise. If for some reason I can't do what I do as I get older than I'll have no shame in doing what I can.

Michael, My shoulders never really grew either, until lately. I have been doing long-hold ISOs and DVR side laterals. Finally getting some noticeable growth in my shoulders. Might be worth a shot. I like some of Doug's stuff. He makes sense in a lot of what he says. The only time I've seen my shoulders look different was when I did side laterals and a rear delt exercise. I know some say that You only need a press. I press KBs now. My shoulders act funny when I just press. As long as I do shoulder rehab exercise I have no problem. Doug makes sense. Everyone has a different opinion on what's safe and worthwhile. Who do you listen to. Some people are lucky/have been lucky with what they do exercise wise. , of course I can't have their luck.

I created this quick simple isometric routine that transitions well for the entire shoulder girdle. It can be done anywhere on the fly:
1) Stand erect. The elbow is bent & placed perpendicular to the body, palm on top of butt cheek. Cock the hip to one side for more stretch.
2) Followed by kneeling on one leg & placing the elbow slightly forward of the lead kneecap. I use a hardcover book on the kneecap to elevate the upper arm.
3) Next, while still kneeling the forearm is placed against the bent inner thigh.
4) After that, palm is placed against the outer thigh close to but not on hip with the elbow bent, leg is dovetailed outboard to get a better stretch.
I rotate between the 4 positions for a few sets & the holds are done at 30s half effort. The intent is to build up connective tissue with long duration holds. Drinking unflavoured gelatin with Vitamin C 30 to 60 minutes prior to activity stimulates collagen synthesis.

Here's a "busted up weightlifter" curing his upper body with Atlas Dynamic Tension exercise. The last couple of seconds when he stands up will make you laugh. Maybe he hasn't gotten the legs course yet?

His belly in the video above makes his legs look small as he stands up but you can see in his other videos that his legs look good. His real name is John Holt. He also has some videos of when he was in his prime and competed in the NABBA.

This John accomplished some things and does not take himself too seriously now, which most of here don't either. I was trying to say maybe he didn't get the Atlas leg course yet because his knee cracked and he made the sound he made when he stood up. Not because his legs were skinny.

He's done a great job with his legs after a knee replacement.
