guess I can't win with anyone. Stick to what works is best in my book. No matter what, I know what gives me the best benefit and I stick with it. Good for you guys for what works for you. Not debating, just giving a heads up of what worked. It's cool to have concerns, but don't try to take away what makes me happy and has kept me doing what I love without severe injury. Thank you for your concerns and cringes. What works best now isn't necessarily the right thing for long term. And you also have to ask yourself "best benefit" for what? Paying the bills? Doing household chores? Working around the house? "just giving a heads up of what worked." I think most of the people on Bruce's site have a wealth of experience under their belts via various training approaches -- think (and I may be wrong) some people wrestled back in the day. I didn't but tried bridging back when Furey's book hit the scene in 1999 or 2000 until Scott Sonnon's well researched information hit the web. The good thing about this site is there are people here you can learn from...they've been there, done that. eg The recommendations for reverse benches and reverse push ups on handles or DBs (to save the wrists) since they're more conducive to the shoulder -- great idea!!! Learned something new from that. "It's cool to have concerns, but don't try to take away what makes me happy" We shared objective information. No one here is trying to "take away what makes [you] happy". Don't blame us for that...it is your choice but you seem to want blame other people. T'ain't any of us taking away anything... Always learning, good or bad and take what feels right to me. Sonnen is a hell of a knowledgeable fitness guy and I am an affiliate of his company. His knowledge and creative way of using clubs and yoga together is awesome. I don't agree with some of his research or ideas but I can see how people can benefit from him. I don't blame anybody, it just comes across as "you're wrong and should listen and follow what these guys do." I could be wrong but that's the impression I'm getting. For over 2 decades of practicing different methods of exercise and experiencing highs and lows of certain programs, I don't always look to research or who says what is best, I go for what benefits me and if I switch up later on for a better experience Than I do it. I'm fond of using pushup handles for the wrists and have used them to do pushups in different directions and positions. The great Karl Gotch once said " always work your muscles from every possible angle." Taking bits and pieces of the best methods I can find and mold them for my goals is what has kept me motivated to workout everyday and enjoy what is possible and challenging myself on things I've never done before. I don't get scared of the possible risks, I'm confident in what I can and can't do and there are exercises I don't do anymore because I have no interest in them. You found what benefits you and you made the most of it and I respect that. I absorb what I can and make the most of it.

No one can take what makes You happy but Yourself. I don't stop doing things out of fear. I stop them because I learnt something through my experience, someone else's, proffessional guidance, and even studies. I'll be forever grateful that Texas pushed Staurt McGill's stuff on me. Bruce, told a guy that was pretty much asking permission to use a hand gripper that his mom bought him something. I don't remember his exact words but it was something along the lines of do what You want. No one can see what You're doing. If it makes You happy go at it.

Having a big neck is good you idiots You want a muscular, strong neck -- it does not have to be "big". Big doesn't mean anything. I know people with 18" necks and it isn't all muscle.

To me, necks are like traps. Your neck will grow and strengthen through a standard compound routine - strengthen and grow by default. Same thing with your traps, as far as I'm concerned. I don't like those big, over-developed traps bodybuilders build. They tend to make them look like they have sloping shoulders. Steve Reeves had a great set of traps. He was naturally broad shouldered to begin with, but just the right trap development made them appear even more so.

If someone doesn't like their big neck, they can check out Jack LaLanne's face/neck/chin vids for tips or perhaps this would help:

Parker is the ultimate fitness catfisher. Google that dumb asses. He is totally fake, he could be a JP troll, a woman, Gordon pretending to have a foil, or practically anyone or anything. No one knows anything about him except for the bullshit he posts. Dave Walmsley and Shen used to call him on it, but they are so obsessed with that dumbass JP that they now let him slide as a show of unity. Hypocrites. I'm confused, are you calling me a fake or what? I'm just curious. If you want to know anything about me, all you have to do is ask. I could be wrong.

Training the upper traps is a waste of time anyways. They get get input from all kinds of exercises, there's no need to isolate them. People should focus on the low and middle trapezius because those muscles are what's usually underdeveloped.
What are the chances this is someone from the forum who logged in as a guest to insult bigben84 without consequences. Bitch move

Benny isn't mentally challenged, he's honest and obviously loves to work out. This is a free and open forum, and Benny, along with every one else, is free to say whatever he wants to. The price we pay for a free and open forum is the possibility of being called on some of your statements, and being challenged. How you deal with it is your call. Learning to interface with different personalities and to intelligently respond to criticism, isn't something that is learned on The Blow.
