I watched the film on Netflix. So sad but he pushed his body past its limits. The guy was super crazy big. I can't believe he was the same height as me. I think he out weighed me by 100lbs.

I saw Coleman in a restaurant when he was winning the Mr. Olympias and he was crazy huge...just massive beyond belief. But, I've seen former pro US football players in wheelchairs and a friend from Scotland said there are Rugby players who end up in the same condition...few sports are without the risk of some kind of injury. www.espn.com/nfl/playoffs03/columns/story?columnist=garber_greg&id=1722403

I watched some of it...
My question was: How is it a working member of Law Enforcement justifies the procurement and use of illegal steroids? And how does he get them? Or are steroids like that legal just not for competition?

I don't know about the USA, but here in the UK, anabolic steroids are controlled as Class C substances under the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971. There is no possession offence but it is illegal to manufacture, supply or possess/import/export steroids with the intent to supply, without a licence to do so. Having said that, it's pretty easy to get your hands on juice if you want. A few years ago, I was checking out a potential new gym with a bloke I worked with, and as we walked in, the owner was giving somebody a shot in the bum. What I thought was funny, was that he clenched his bum so hard, it all came squirting out. There are some legal steroids that can be obtained.
I've never been interested in trying steroids. I'm a bit of a believer in "my body is a temple" and I don't want to be massive. I an very suspicious about putting chemicals in my body. Food and drink are good enough for me. I've been told that I have big shoulders and arms, although I don't see it. I guess all the years of pull-ups and dips are having an effect.
"Eat more, lift more" I think is the route to size.

In the US, the Department of Justice lists anabolic drugs and similiar products as Schedule III products: www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/fed_regs/rules/2009/fr1204.htmThe hilarious contradiction of the US? You've got all of these people outraged -- and rightfully so -- over the growing opiod issue in the US along with other products such as meth and cocaine. But, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (along with Mondays and Thursdays) in the fall, millions go to watch high school (probably/possibly middle school), college and professional (US) football players jacked to the gills with steroids, growth hormones and who knows what else. Kids as young as 13 or 14 are using steroids to get bigger, faster and stronger and it is scary to see it encouraged by many parents just so their kid has a shot at a million dollar contract with the National Football League (NFL)...at the risk of ruining their health and potentially suffering a life changing/permanent injury. The book, Spiral of Denial, while nearly 10 years old, is an incredibly detailed publication on this topic that holds up...it discusses the proliferation of these drugs throughout US sports, especially in US pro football. (And as noted, many of these players are cripples a few short years later and in many cases suffering from traumatic brain damage.) Just look at this guy...he's a "quarterback" (Tim Tebow) and looks like a jacked pro CrossFitter. Think he's clean? 6’3, 245 lbs. Feat of Strength: 480 lb. bench press, 4.71 sec. 40 yard dash time, 38.5″ vertical jump Robert Turbin... 5’10, 222 lbs. Feat of Strength: 28 reps of 225 lb. bench press, 36″ vertical jump, 4.50 40 yard dash And the fans that cheer this on:

Notice out of the three who is enjoying himself immensely, nestled in the cocoon of his warm, happy chubbyness. The other two are tense and grimacing with concentration. Who is the real winner at this game of life?
