I'm sure we have all seen someone with a dour face. He looks as though he seldom ever smiles, if ever at all. That dour expression becomes cemented on his face.
Several times throughout the days I think of something happy or funny and plant the biggest, widest grin on my face that I can, and then just hold it there for a bit, exercising my facial smile muscles. I slowly let it go and I can feel a retention. That's not to say I don't otherwise have anything to smile about, but just as I pump my biceps, I also want to pump my face. I'll bet that if the dour faced guy were to do this daily, he would eventually have a more pleasant face.

For a fair and balanced facial workout, alternate working the smile muscles with the dour muscles

Awesome Lalanne. Thank you PH
I had old book called facial isometrics. Good to do for stress relief.

Some experts suggest relaxing the face when performing isometrics and heavy lifts . However, I don't follow that demandment .

I'm not going to devote an entire workout to my face. I just do what I have described in the OP. As I age, the ol' skin starts to drop and I'm just trying to keep it up, and smiling a lot will develop those facial features and lines that are pleasant to behold.

Just joking Bruce. I actually pulled a muscle doing the facial exercise.

Bruce...is it really fair that all the people in Pratt have seen your smiling face, yet all your loyal subjects on this forum go day after day having never once experienced your smile? Is that fair....really?
