Summer has some of the best things of the year happen: - The Tour de France - Wimbledon - Track and Field - Vidalia Onions - Peaches Well, the peaches once in abundance on the roadside farm stands and at the farmer's markets are about gone...a sad time of the year as peach season once again comes to a close. But, in remembrance of the of late, great Duane Allman, Eat a Peach.

We've had about 5 straight weeks of rain and dreary weather. Finally, the sun is out and it's drying up a bit

Right now I'm riding the crest of a wave, working out enthusiastically to the max. But, every year when summer finally winds down, so do I.

Summer is the time when I pace my workouts...and since I've been doing a bit more running and get out before the sun's up and baking everything, things are at a bit slower pace than normal. And when the barbell is warm to the touch out the garage, you know its summer. Fall hits and even a slight dip out of the mid-90s to 100s makes those garage workouts much more tolerable again...time to crank the ZZ Top, Van Halen and hit it a little harder again. Some summer music from some obscure UK band...they're pretty good and may make a name for themselves some day:

Just finished a basket of peaches (not all at once), very juicy and it's was also corn (maize UK) season, delicious corn on the cob. In the US, state fairs have provided some very tasty corn over the years. My favorites have been at the Ohio state fair and Missouri state fair. Big juicy kernels and the corn was soaked in butter from local dairies. Loved those tunes from Mungo Jerry and Sly as a kid...what fun memories they bring back.

No, never heard it before but love the sound and mood of that era.
An ex-girlfriend played this one non-stop...I wanted to use that record for a frizbee...

I always liked that one. I just noticed - no percussions.

We just bought a crate of peaches the other day, my wife making a peach cobbler tomorrow, that with a scoop of Tillamok Vanilla Bean ice cream makes it perfect!

Downtown is up the Street from us and there's an indoor Market, Thursdays and Saturdays there outdoor stands from local Farmers and Bread Bakers, cool! There's a Saturday cooking class that features whats in season and you watch and have some of what they cook up, free grub, brilliant. Guerilla marketing baby! Yeah!

We have some good corn, tomatoes and blue berries here in Jersey. September-October my fig tree is filled with figs.
