Henry - GREAT video from Rich and Kathy. Thanks for posting! I love the reference to grass fed claims (lies) -- think it was Cowspiracy that Roll referred to where some experts ran the numbers regarding the amount of acreage required by beef cattle and when you saw the actual facts it was unbelievable. There was a recent discussion between Dave Asprey (Bulletproof Diet), Kip Anderson (What the Health) and Dr. Joel Kahn at a Google sponsored health discussion. Asprey -- as usual -- got a little smug and snide when he threw out he owned a "grass fed beef" business (you have to ask how much is he making off of his supplements and oil sales to buy a ranch in California...) and started tossing out the sustainability factor. Anderson knew his numbers and threw out the facts, which Asprey fumbled all over but couldn't objectively refute. What isn't mentioned by Preston or Roll is research dating back to the 60s or 70s (?) on protein that Dr. Ellington Darden mentions in several of his books is a PhD at the university he was attending showed that the recommendations cited in the podcast were 100% on the mark. For one of his PhDs (think I have the story straight), Darden conducted some research on protein and he verified not only did the recommendations hold up, he found excess protein either ended up in the urine or stored as bodyfat. Also didn't know the meat and cheese advertising with all of those ads -- Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, etc. -- is being paid for by our tax $$$$ ?? What the hell? ?
