I believe bouncers need to be registered here in upstate NY. They do here now, however... as someone who has worked as security at a festival it's a bit of a con on the public because after building a stage and dance floor the head of security approached me and my pal and asked if we wanted to work the security at the festival. He took us into a storage container turned office and printed our badges off there on the spot and filled some sort of form out, no training, no background check nothing. we were just walking around making sure drugs weren't being sold and radioing through to someone more senior and all piling on said person, we were told certain people were allowed to deal though, we had one dude waving a gun around because his girl was dancing with some other guy. that was at the old custard factory turned nightclubs/festival hotspot in Digbeth, Birmingham and it was honestly the dregs of society, never again.

I think the comparisons to police are apt in that they're probably all arseholes but a sad necessity. Now that crowds are (in my limited experience), more coked up than ever, might be time to let them loose again. Cool training clips at the start in any case.
