DDH - Short, sweet and while not a lot of fun, it got the job done in minutes to include the warm up.

Over the years, much of Dr. McGuff's information has become my go-to. His recommendations are science based and grounded in reality. For +99% of us, training should be about optmizing our strength and cardiovascular conditioning, safely. As for the outliers -- the athletes training for competition -- their requirements are going to be different, but we see the outcomes. Even the things many of us went through in the military -- the high volume PT, heavy ruck carries, etc. -- just aren't necessary in daily life and we know the beating these guys suffer as a result of training like that for years.
Anyway, love it or hate it, this is one of my favorite videos from McGuff. Highly informative. And the interesting thing? Unlike other fitness "gurus", McGuff doesn't have a ton of books, videos, etc. Why? As Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn said (think it was him) when asked when he was publishing his next book, "Not sure why I would need to. My book covers the facts and steps needed to heal your body and that hasn't changed and probably never will."

I agree with your take on him. Very knowledgeable and not out to promote anything but health.
This is another great one, long but great, especially good watch for those getting on in years if they need to hear about how specifically strength and muscle will benefit them.
