I got hold of a bunch of hardly used weights and bars very cheaply on Facebook last week. Included in the lot was a load of rubber coated weights that look like they've never been used. They look identical to those at the link below but have the name "Bodymaker" on them. These are great for when I have to train indoors. Anyone else got rubber coated weights, m8s? www.gymandfitness.com.au/products/rubber-coated-29mm-standard-weight-plates

I do ! I do ! 🤓
I have four rubber coated 45 pound plates that look similar to yours.
I also have pairs of 100% rubber ‘bumper’ plates in 33 and 55 pounds. The 55’s are so big that they look like small car tires.

No weight plates, but rubber coated DBs, yes. The plastic covered concrete ones are ok indoors too, unless they start leaking from rough handling. To make them last, I keep them out of the sun.
I've picked up a lot of used equipment cheaply or even free over the years. I haven't been very particular about the features if it's a great deal, but when I take inventory, I realize that now I'm in good shape and not really wanting any more. It's a question of real estate. If I find something really irresistible that upgrades quality, something else probably needs to go - maybe two somethings.

Wow, those look great Bruv. I had some coated plates for years, but ended up giving them to my son. Mine had that chemical smell so I put them out in the sun for several hours.

Yeah, I have some small rubber coated dumbbells. It's those hex head ones with the chromed handles that are popular these days. I've already sold off some of what I bought last week and some of my older stuff. I certainly don't need it all. It does my head in to have too much stuff, m8.

Only 3 times per week to test my strength, Michael m8 Came right out of the closet, . At least Atlas never came out the closet. What do You do to test Your strength? I train nearly every day. I don't have set rest days as my job is so physical that I can't consider a work day being a rest day and if I use the weekend as rest days and laze around it often makes me feel rough on Monday morning. My routine is very simple and basic. Mostly compound exercises but I might throw in a set of alternating curls every now and again. A pulling exercise such as a bent over row. A pushing exercise such as a 15 degree (Approx.) incline dumbbell press. This is the perfect angle for my dodgy shoulder. Some sort of squat. e.g. Hip belt, Sumo, dumbbells, bands. High rep stuff. One set to failure. I start with a resistance I can do 25+ reps per set. When I can get 70 reps on an upper body exercise I'll add more resistance on the next workout so if it's bands I'll add a band or move further away from an anchor point or if it's dumbbells I'll obviously add more weight. Lower body. Sometimes I'll add resistance at 70 or at 100 reps depending on what I feel like doing. It's not a bodybuilding routine of course. It's a making me feel very fit and without aches and pains routine, m8s.

No. I started getting aches in the base of my thumb joints from things like the frog stand. At the moment my only exercises are those in the post above, Fred m8

My routine is influenced by several sources. I got the frequent training with high reps thing from some of the stuff K Boges puts on his Youtube channel where he will train a high rep set of calisthenics using a pull, a push and a squat. My dodgy shoulder makes things like chins, pullups, dips and pushups not good choices for me. I can get fairly good reps but at the expense of a constantly aching shoulder so I just avoid those exercises now. I was toying with the idea of one of the old school light dumbbell systems but not one of the muscles tensing versions. Having to do a large number of isolation exercises does my head in after a while though. The one thing I did get from a light dumbbell system though was working up to 70 reps before adding more resistance which I got from Al Treloar's "Science of Muscular Development". The minimalist style routine is from videos on Muscle Monsters and Jeff Nippard's channels where they have said that if you are just interested in a basic routine and not training for bodybuilding competition that you really don't need anything more than a few compound exercises.
