My grandson's dad was away on a fishing holiday with his very rich m8. His mum was going back to work but with an 8 month old daughter to deal with so the grandson stayed with us for a week to get him out of the way as he's a hindrance. His mum had the supermarket deliver food to us for him. There was loads of it. Anyone would think the kid eats like Eddie Hall. Most of what was served to him ended up in the bin. All of it was shite food anyway. Biscuits of course, nuggets and Kraft cheese slices etc. He also drinks some shite called "Sustagen" which seems to be powdered milk, sugar, vitamins and loads of other stuff masquerading as a health food. I said he should just be given milk seeing as he will drink it. Surely it's got to be better for him than something made by Nestle?

Biscuits of course, nuggets and Kraft cheese slices etc. One of my wife's idiotic relatives serves her 2 kids nothing but packaged macaroni & cheese with fake processed chicken nuggets at every single meal, washed down with one of those fake sugary juice 'drinks'. The boy is as skinny as a rail, wears glasses and is short for his age, while the girl is slightly overweight and seems to have a constantly clogged nose while breathing through her open mouth. Every time I see their excuse for a mother I feel like slapping the living shit out of her ! The mother claims that they won't eat anything else, yet when the kids stayed with us for a weekend it wasn't long before I had them eating everything. Real chicken cutlets, broiled salmon and cod, omelets, vegetables, sardines, soup, everything ! I also got them to ditch the sugary poison drinks and try some plain old spring water with frozen fruit bits to keep it cold... They loved it ! When the mother came to pick up the kids on Sunday night my wife handed her back the supply of garbage 'food' that she'd bought for us to feed them, and she looked puzzled. My wife told her what the kids ate and the only thing their mother said was "ewwwwww, fish ? that's disgusting".... From what I hear this is fairly common these days, and a real shame for the innocent kids.

Alessio Fasano knows that is BS when applied to gluten sensitivity. 100% of the people I know who have eliminated the toxic glutens from their diet have experienced improvements in their health. There are something like 250 to 300 symptoms that are caused by toxic gluten grains. You haven't 'been there, done that', but I have, and you have no clue what you're talking about.

Wow, that scalated quickly...making friends, it seems.
Regarding the kids' diets these days, it is crazy the way parents upbring them: from manners towards others, to eating, to studying, to working, everything. My mother took good care of me, fed me right, dressed me right, taught me manners, she wanted me to be responsible and excell, to understand the value of sacrificing oneself to the family and hard work, to be the best Jon possible. Nowadays, I have a strong relationship with her and help her in everything I can. Will these modern times kids do the same for their parents? Hmmm, we shall see.

Yes, of course... It should be common sense that "fasting" will put the body into a calorie deficit, and less calories consumed always causes a loss of weight / fat over time, regardless of the 'type' of food consumed.

I haven't seen anyone contradict you that calorie reduction results in fat/weight loss. As I've posted several times, that is correct. However, it is incomplete information for someone who is looking for sustainable fat/weight loss.
A person will not experience sustainable fat/weight loss by eating processed/junk/fast food which mucks up their metabolism ..... as well as other bodily functions ..... due to lack of proper nutrition, but plus the introduction sugars, artificial "enrichment" and non-food substances. Their body will also require that they eat more since it knows that nutrients are lacking. No willpower can trump the craving in the gut. In the animal world this is known as "pica". Undernourished animals will chew on all kinds of things when their body lacks the nutrients it needs .... and so will people.
We can work with our body or against it, but we won't out-smart it.

So, we all agree that eating for weight loss is different than eating for health - which in my mind means fat loss, muscle building, and not being sick?

Vitamins are the nuts and bolts. Minerals are the framework. You can get them by eating much junk food or by nutrient dense food like chia seeds to satiety and on less calories. The glycemic load determines paking on flab or getting lean. Mikey Musumeci eats pasta and pizza with one meal a day. He is ripped!

BUT, you won't be as healthy and long-lived as if you ate them from natural (non-tampered with) foods. You can also get ripped and VASCULAR with certain prescriptions too!

Anything nutrient dense and is a low glycemic index/load meal is by broad definition healthy. If a debate arose about harmful additives or fats or even food combining/meal timing I would yield on those points.
Mikey Musumeci is under age 25. He does not have big traps or is too muscley. He is OK for his age/size/height.

Mikey Musumeci is ultra-ripped and young and trains up to 12 hours a day and needs those ultra high carbs and he does not gain an ounce on his 135ish frame.
I think I posted a video of his diet a year or more ago but cannot find where.

"Calories" in food?Do they matter for maintaining energy and health?Do we know FOR ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY that counting calories is a significant metric .... or is there a more informed understanding in real, documented science?
