Happy Veterans Day (originally called "Armistice Day", to mark the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany at Compiègne, France, at 5:45 am for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front of World War I, which took effect at eleven in the morning—the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918).
Thank You for your service!

Here's a pic of my father and one of my uncles during World War 2. My father was a Navy 'Chief', he ended up serving all the way until 1970. His brother enlisted in the Army in 1942 and was a radioman and cryptographer for the Big Red One – the Army’s First Infantry Division, Antitank Company, 26th Infantry Regiment. He served in Algeria, Tunisia, Sicily, England, France, Belgium, Germany and Czechoslovakia. He was awarded two Bronze Stars, the Combat Infantry Badge, Seven Battle Stars, the Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He served in seven campaigns, including the Battle of the Bulge, and spent a total of thirty-one months in Europe and Africa.
