My next door neighbor is an ex-military and a retired state police officer. He took down his Airborne Ranger flag during the elections. He does not want to be a target for the wackos.

This is very sad. When I was a kid in the 1960's, the FBI was enormously respected by everyone, and their agents were regarded as true professionals. That, unfortunately, was a long time ago, now the Bureau is really the laughingstock of law enforcement.

Proud to be canadian here. At least with our PM u can righteously knock him? He is an utter numbskull & nothing like his father. The DS obviously hated Trump from the get go & did everything to support his ouster even before his swearing in. They openly solicited advertisements in newspapers & on social media for any dirt on Trump.

"Conservatives SLAM FBI's ....."?
Sound's like WWF show-hype to me ..... just a bit more polished and sophisticated "good guy / bad guy" story.

Old Abe, a master of media narrative and propaganda, learned that, "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time." Not that he didn't try to "fool all of the people all of the time" though. He gave it an effort that 'appeared' to be quite noble. In fact, he put on such a convincing show that there are still "some of the people" in this country, and around the world, who actually believe we had a "Civil" War that was all about fighting over slavery, pro or con.

Most Canadians I've met are not Marxist nor French; pleasant people...a little odd but pleasant nonetheless.

Most Canadians I've met are not Marxist nor French; pleasant people...a little odd but pleasant nonetheless. His father, Pierre Trudeau, appeared in 1968 & effectively campaigned on a better platform for what he called the “Just Society” which was a fight for democratic and political rights, not democratic socialism. His entire approach was unlike the centralizing impulses of the CCF and NDP parties of the time. His party garnered cross-spectrum appeal in terms of Guaranteed Annual Income, anti-poverty measures, expanded funding for Unemployment Insurance & the passage of the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms during his last term as PM. But more importantly, when it came to issues of progressive taxation, social spending and income re-distribution, P. Trudeau wisely deferred to his finance ministers who had close ties to Bay Street and corporate Canada & they effectively reigned in government spending after big social spending increases unlike what their American cousins have done with deficit spending on social programs & discredited Keynesian economic theory. Canadians are only now ruefully discovering that a government who can give u everything can take away everything. Justin Trudeau had brand name recognition derived from the political legacy left in place by his father. Political trends being what they are are cyclic. Justin simply hopped on board the gravy train at the right time. He really had no business playing national politics. He'd be better suited as a Quebec premier at most? Class dismissed!
