Every time I pee now, when I have a cup available so mostly at home, if I don't drink it all (I usually do) I at least sample it straight and note what I had eaten or drunk earlier. I think I'm beginning to notice some things, like the taste of supplements that I recognize, which may indicate that I'm recycling the excess that i had been flushing down the toilet? Yah know, 'Tater,
For years, I've been saying on this forum that taking supplements most likely overly enriches our urine and the health-food hucksters more than our bodies. But if you want to have expensive pee, who am I to quibble?
I have a question for you, m8.
Since our kidneys have evolved over millions of years to play a crucial role in elimination and detoxification, do you have a lurking suspicion that tasting vitamins and supplements in your urine may indicate that drinking pee may be unsafe or unhealthy?
Does this make you suspect that your body is talking to you about toxins you are recycling when you drink your own piss?
I'm just saying....
"...... do you have a lurking suspicion that tasting vitamins and supplements in your urine may indicate that drinking pee may be unsafe or unhealthy?" No, not at all. The key word is "excess". It's not bad stuff coming out in urine. It's just extra - hormones, minerals and all of the other things listed in the links I posted. Good stuff that the body is just unable to assimilate at the time of digestion. It's only "waste" in the sense of overflow because there is a little more than the body needs right then. The bad waste goes out in poop, sweat, respiration, etc. I've experienced the benefit of taking supplements. I don't care if a little is lost in pee or poop. It's still much cheaper than going to a doctor, but it would be nice to recover and recycle the excess that is available. Besides, it's too early for me to draw any conclusions, like I said earlier. If you know of any cases of kidney damage that have occurred as a proven, direct result of drinking one's own urine, I'd appreciate if you'd share, m8. (Not interested in those that were on drugs, just the ones that damaged their kidneys while eating healthy foods and drinking their urine. Although, I've read that even people who were taking drugs were helped by drinking their urine, so I just don't know about that either.)
Anyway, I'm confident enough in the abundance of accounts that it is harmless, it's just mentally unpleasant at first due to "all the crap I learned in high school" and in other situations throughout my life that I've had to continue to unlearn.

WOW this crazy thread is a Pissa ! You know urine in good company when people don't call you crazy for drinking your own piss, but in my opinion the best course of action just to 'relieve' any potential misconceptions would probably be to consult with an expert in the subject...anyone happen to know an available 'Pee-HD' ? ...ok, I really have nothing more to add to the thread except for this catchy older tune from 'Yellow Magic Orchestra'.... Enjoy !

I remember that once when Barry Goldwater was campaigning, his team came up with a yellow drink they called "Gold Water" and they took some to Barry for a taste test...Barry took a swig and then spit it right out, and he said "This tastes like piss!" End of brilliant idea.
Question: How did Barry know what piss tastes like?

Crickets? After thousands of years of people using urine for many applications and drinking it, this info must be off-the-charts prolific and extremely easy to find. Compare that (absent) data to deaths from a "novel" flu bug recently. Easy to find, even the deaths from CV they don't want you to find, if you know how to search. So, where's the proof? Yeah, I couldn't find any either. In fact, I found this while searching that supports what Dr Group, Pritam Poddar, the text I quoted and the many books on this subject, which is that, when the kidney filters the beneficial from the toxins, sends the toxins to poop and the beneficial stuff to urine, that good stuff is in it, not bad stuff: Protein is good material, right? The protein would include things like hormones. But, if it can't be used, the excess (along with other "important substances that your body NEEDS" - see list) goes out in urine. There you go. Just to reassure the skeptics, I am truly unconcerned about any danger, but I do appreciate yours. Plenty of bigpharma-medicine approved warnings, but cases of actual damage by direct causation is undocumented after thousands of years, I guess? Weird huh? One of the articles on that site says that a body produces about a half gallon of urine a day and I can tell you from collection, I'm way over that, so I must be drinking enough water since urine averages 95% water.

Your body doesn't want it because it doesn't need it at that time. Consider this: If you were going to wash your car .... You put a little soap in the bucket, put the hose in the bucket and turn on the water, then decide to go get a brew while you wait for the bucket to fill. You come back and the bucket has overflowed. If you had caught the overflow by putting the bucket into a larger bucket or pan, you could use the excess to wash your wife's car too. There's nothing wrong with the liquid that overflowed, but it was too much for the bucket's capacity, more than needed for the job you were doing at the time.
