My brother-in-law should have lived forever......I've never seen anyone drink as much coffee as him I can remember being over at his and my sister's and we would be watching TV about midnight.... or later, and he would call to my sister in the kitchen "put a flame under the coffee please"....and this was coffee that had been sitting for a few hours....it looked like crude oil

I've had maybe 14 cups in my 55 year life. I'm not a fan, but do like the smell.

I drink coffee every morning then tea throughout the day, at work breaks... it's a culture thing I guess but you can't avoid cups of tea/coffee here unless you live alone and never visit anyone , I love visiting the older generation and getting some nice evaporated milk in my coffee which is a habit formed by the years of rationing. I don't like strong coffee but I could drink the "Gold Blend" stuff all day.

Never drank coffee in my life. I got enough energy so never thought I needed it. Seems like drinking muddy water. Poor guy I don't want to be on Carol's list.

Brazilian beans, ground daily. Water short of boiling, carefully poured into the coffee press and let it steep for no less than 12 minutes. Far cry from the swill in the military and on a recent trip to Canada, I had to seek out a Starbucks after trying Tim Horton's newest dark roast. The grind was closer to Starbucks blond roasts.

All this coffee sharing tells me who I'd like to get together with for a good cup of coffee, fellow coffee connoisseurs who are very particular about their coffee and won't drink any coffee and probably drink theirs straight and strong.

I'm trying something new this am. I've added about 1.5 t (8cc) of cocoa powder to the pot of very dark roast coffee that I'm brewing. I did this because I thought I caught a sniff of cocoa from a bag of a different and favorite brand of dark, dark roast as I put the grind into the pot. (My normal home-brew is Folger's Black Silk and I brew it camp style, using a fine strainer when I pour.) I'll let you know if it made any detectable difference.

Personally I always preferred my liver dipped in flower before cooking it. I never thought that it would also need a drink.

The convenience store near me makes excellent rich, dark, black coffee. The darker the roast, the less caffeine is in the cup. A lot of people don’t know this. They associate a darker roast with stronger coffee. I generally drink an organic medium roast, sometimes as a homemade cold brew, using a French press. Rest of time, I’ll do a pour over or use the French Press, then strain it through an unbleached paper filter to get any sediment out. I used to grind right before brewing, but now grind enough for a week, and store in glass jars.
