Had strep ever since, not sure if exercising hard lowers your immune system or just shit luck? haven't been able to exercise since painkillers won't bring my temp down and can't eat. see how I feel tomorrow if i feel a bit better might do some light work with 2.5 kg dumbbells or something.

Feed a cold and starve a fever is what they say and I do go by that as well. Lots of fluids like water and gatorade. Hang in there and rest up as much as possible.

I haven't really got a choice but to starve it hehe, I'm trying to get the fluids in but my mrs finds it absolutely hilarious how i wince in pain every time i take a sip . I've been put on penicillin so should clear up in the next few days, I always get a block of each year where I get illness after illness (kids usually bringing it back from that melting pot of illnesses we call school) and then I'm usually good for the rest of the year

Their doc said it was building their immune systems and would stop, which it did for the most part.

It seems that you have considered that the acute, severe stress of that uphill bucket carry work may have had something to do with it? That was why I said earlier that doing all of that work in one day would have killed me, so I try to evaluate an "emergency" to do some chunk of physical work that might be a week or a month if I did it in small bits. If it absolutely must be done immediately, I either try to find someone to help or to just do it for me (and I pay them) or I bite the bullet and get on with it, knowing that I'm going to need some good nutrition, possibly a partial/veggie or water fast, rest and recovery afterward.

Been a while since I updated here so thought I would add something I did today, I made my cousin who is a "gym rat" feel inadequate, I know it's not humble to brag but a few years ago he was calling me a fat lazy c*nt so fuck him He came over and kept going on about he's missing gym tonight so he can go to some event, I asked him if he wanted to work out with me whilst our mrs were talking crap and he laughed because aesthetically he looks much fitter than me, but said ok. I set the circuit, Ten push ups Ten deadlifts with a rock about 25kg walk with rock 20 yards ten curls to press with 15kg dumbbells walk back with rock repeat no rest for 15 minutes. 7 minutes in he was as white as a ghost and was walking on jelly legs and was catching stick off of me for being a 2 pump squirt whilst he couldn't reply because he was winded. Small victories and all that.

This is a log to track my progress towards growing my calves over the next 3 months. It was decided between me, my grandfather and my brother we would have a little bet. My grandad who is 80 years old has strong calves for his age and is worrying about them becoming too weak an observation he has made whilst walking the dogs over hills. Anyway me and my brother had a little bit of banter with us calling him "Girly calves" (Just so you know he calls us pussies and bitches 24/7 this isn't a bully thing ) and he went and got a measuring tape, it turns out we're all similar I'm at 16.5 inches, my bros calves are 16.5 inches and my grandads calves are 17 Inches, after listening to him bang on about us now having "Girly calves" I made a bet that by march I would have bigger calves. So here we are, Β£300 is the Prize fund 3 contestants and a bloody good excuse for me to keep training Today: 10 Rounds of 10 kettlebell swings followed by a 20 yard farmers carry - No rest. 3 minute rest 3 Rounds of 20 yards Farmers carry on toes followed by 20 yard Waiter carry (?) on toes - About a minute rest between rounds. Tomorrow I plan on doing some higher volume stuff on Calves. What a fun challenge you've got with your grandad and brother! It's cool how a little friendly teasing turned into a motivating bet. Your dedication to training is awesome, and it's great to see you pushing yourself for a goal. Keep up the hard work, and I'm sure you'll rock those calf gains! πͺπΌπ Best of luck!
