So I bought a summer pass for the town public swimming pool, it's really nice and the $35 I paid for the pass may very well be my best investment for 2021. It's far less than building a pool which, based on talking to a couple people who've done it recently, is about a $65,000 project. A far cry from the $18,000 I spent to have a pool built in 1986.
Anyway, I've gone 5 times thus far and do so primarily for the cooling benefits. I generally go around 1:30 pm or 2:00 pm and stay for a couple hours. Met another old turd there and we've been talking about life.
I generally swim 10 laps (25 meter length) at a leisurely pace, floating and splashing between laps, not concerned about performance or speed but just to enjoy the coolness of the water. Then I get out and relax, some more, maybe for about 15-20 minutes, then repeat. Maybe as time goes on, I'll add additional 10 lap rounds but the goal is to stay cool and not to get in another workout.
What I've noticed since I've been doing this the past week is that my average weekly morning resting heart rate decreased from 49 bpm to 47 bpm. In the last four hours, it ranged from 46 bpm to 165 bpm (this was during an early morning burpees workout.) I'm sure the steady breakfast of burpees I've been doing has contributed but I think the swimming is a new factor. I've paid attention to my resting heart rate over the years and what I've noticed is that I feel best when my resting heart rate is low.
Going swimming today for day #6. I need 18 visits to break even on my $35 investment.

$35 for a full use all summer pool pass is a value, especially if you use it 3-4x+ weekly.
Been in the 112-115 degree range last couple of days here in Vegas.

A public swimming pool is a crowd of people with water in it.
How much ice is required to keep the pool temp below 90°?

Get job Pierini on doing your laps and 35 bucks for a summer pass to swim, the gym that my wife and I had belonged to before they closed up , had a 3 lane lap pool that was hardly ever used, so twice a week I would swim between 20 to 25 laps alternating between the freestyle and the breaststroke, I do have to say that swimming is a fantastic workout, and it made my body feel great after I finished, and another byproduct was , I slept like a baby at night after I swam, I noticed to, that my endurance got a bit better to, keep swimming those laps, it a fantastic workout, and your body will thank you for it too,

If Pierini cuts back on his legendary burpees and visits his town's dives, he'll be able to perform decent cannonballs.

Day 7 today using my $35 summer pass. I need 18 visits to break even. More kid traffic today but I managed to squeeze in 20 laps, done at a leisurely pace. It feels so good being in the pool on a hot afternoon.
