I’m fairly notorious for sharing my exercise workouts and videos that generally cast me in a favorable light while annoying some.
In an effort of being transparent, I want to share that two weeks ago while taking a run, I fell and got up with bruised ribs, a shiner on my cheek and scratches and cuts on my hand palms, legs and knees. Two weeks later, I’m 95 percent healed.
I’m running at 2,200 feet elevation on uneven terrain with a little rust and stuff happens. I toyed with the idea of walking home (a little more than one mile) but instead ran because it would get me home sooner to clean up the bloody mess.
The elbow roll trick I mastered from karate training bruised ribs days served me well getting out of bed in the middle of night to take a piss.
End of transparency sharing, as you were.

How does a man of your skill and stature manage a face plant?
Sacramento is only 30 ft above sea level, so 2200 ft may take a very slight acclimation period.
Where I live in Vegas is 2400 ft above, and the hikes I do at Mount Charleston, start at 7000 and go up to almost 12,000 ft. The first couple of hikes for the year, I feel it, but acclimate fast to elevation. My hikes are more for enjoying nature, and the fitness improvements are a byproduct. I do not time myself, or strive to better my times anymore. Just want to enjoy the ride, and keep moving.
I admire your precise approach to fitness. While it wouldn’t work for me, I can still learn from it.

Thanks Mag and MBS.
In another transparency share, a few months ago, I could do 35 bar dips in a single set. Today, I could probably do only 12-15.
Peak fitness has a short shelf life.

It’s muscle endurance erosion from taking time off performing bar dips. Muscle endurance is activity specific.
